4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the washing machine from its packaging. Ensure all packing materials are removed. Place the machine on a flat, stable surface. Allow at least 10cm of space around the machine for proper ventilation and operation.

4.2 Water Supply Connection

Connect the water inlet hose to the water tap and the washing machine's inlet valve. Ensure connections are tight to prevent leaks. The package includes a water supply hose and a drain sleeve.

4.3 Drain Hose Installation

Attach the drain hose securely to the machine and direct it into a suitable drain. Ensure the drain hose is not kinked or blocked. The drain hose connection should be at least 9cm above the floor.

4.4 Power Connection

Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the appliance's requirements (100V).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Loading Laundry

Open the foldable lid and load laundry into the tub. Do not overload the machine. For best results, ensure clothes are evenly distributed.

5.2 Adding Detergent and Softener

Pull out the detergent dispenser drawer. Add liquid detergent to the left compartment and fabric softener to the right compartment. The machine will mix the detergent with water to create foam for effective cleaning.

5.3 Selecting a Wash Course

The HW-K70J offers diverse wash courses to suit different laundry needs. Use the control panel to select your desired course.

Available courses include:

  • Standard: For daily laundry.
  • Quick (14 minutes): For lightly soiled items or when time is limited.
  • My Course: Customize wash, rinse, spin, and wind dry settings.
  • Blanket: For larger items like blankets.
  • Tub Clean: For cleaning the washing machine tub.
  • Wind Dry: Utilizes air circulation to reduce drying time.

5.4 Starting the Wash Cycle

After selecting the course, press the Start/Pause button to begin the wash cycle. The machine will automatically detect the load size and adjust water levels if applicable.

5.5 Untangling Spin-Dry Function

After the spin cycle, the pulsator will gently move to untangle clothes, making them easier to remove from the tub.

5.6 Reservation Function

You can set a reservation for the wash cycle completion time, from 1 to 24 hours in advance, to suit your schedule.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Lint Filter

Regularly clean the lint filter to maintain optimal washing performance and prevent lint buildup on clothes. The HW-K70J features a large capacity lint filter for easy maintenance.

6.2 Tub Cleaning Courses

The washing machine includes three dedicated tub cleaning courses to keep the tub hygienic and prevent mold and odor.

  • 10-Minute Course: For quick rinsing of the tub before or after each wash.
  • 4-Hour Course: For regular cleaning using a commercially available washing machine cleaner.
  • 12-Hour Course: For thorough cleaning to remove stubborn dirt and mold.

6.3 Exterior Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
