5. Maintenance
5.1 Defrosting
This freezer requires manual defrosting. When frost accumulation reaches approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick, or at least once a year, defrost the unit. To defrost:
- Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
- Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
- Open the drain plug located at the bottom of the freezer to allow water to escape. Place a shallow pan or towel underneath to collect the water.
- Use the provided plastic scraper to remove ice from the interior walls. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging the unit back in and returning food items.

5.2 Cleaning
