- RESET Button: Used for pairing and resetting the module.
- LED Status Indicator: Provides visual feedback on the module's status (e.g., pairing mode, connected).
5. Installation
This module is designed for embedded installation behind a traditional wall switch in standard EU wall boxes. A neutral wire (N) is required for operation.
5.1 Pre-installation Checklist
- Ensure power is OFF at the main circuit breaker.
- Confirm the presence of a neutral wire (N) in your switch box.
- Have necessary tools: screwdriver, wire strippers, voltage tester.
5.2 Wiring Diagram and Steps
Refer to the wiring diagram on the module and the illustration below for correct connections. The module supports two independent channels (L1 and L2) for controlling two separate light circuits.

Figure 5.1: Module Wiring and App Control Example
This image shows the EMOS GoSmart ZigBee Smart Switch Module H5102 with its detailed wiring diagram printed on the casing. It illustrates connections for Live (L), Neutral (N), and two switched outputs (L1, L2) for controlling two separate loads, as well as inputs for two physical switches (S1, S2). Alongside the module, a smartphone screen displays the EMOS GoSmart app interface, showing two virtual switches labeled "Switch 1" and "Switch 2" in an 'ON' state, demonstrating remote control capability.
- Disconnect Power: Turn off the power to the switch at the circuit breaker. Verify with a voltage tester.
- Remove Existing Switch: Carefully remove the existing wall switch from its box.
- Connect Wires to Module:
- Connect the Live wire (from power supply) to the 'L' terminal on the module.
- Connect the Neutral wire (from power supply) to the 'N' terminal on the module.
- Connect the load wire for the first light circuit to the 'L1' terminal.
- Connect the load wire for the second light circuit to the 'L2' terminal.
- Connect the wires from your traditional wall switch to the 'S1' and 'S2' terminals. Ensure these are dry contact switches (momentary or toggle, depending on configuration).
- Mount Module: Carefully place the module into the wall box, ensuring wires are not pinched.
- Reinstall Switch: Reattach the traditional wall switch over the module.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
Note: The module acts as a repeater within the ZigBee network, extending its range.
6. Setup and Pairing
To use the EMOS GoSmart ZigBee Smart Switch Module, a ZigBee gateway (hub) is required. Ensure your gateway is powered on and connected to your home network.
6.1 EMOS GoSmart App Installation
- Download the "EMOS GoSmart" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Register or log in to your EMOS GoSmart account.

Figure 6.1: EMOS GoSmart App and Voice Assistant Compatibility
This image features a smartphone displaying the EMOS GoSmart app interface, showing virtual switches for controlling lights. Below the phone, logos for "Download on the App Store" and "Get it on Google Play" are visible, along with "Works with Amazon Alexa & Google Assistant," indicating broad compatibility and ease of access for smart home integration.
6.2 Pairing the Module with Your ZigBee Gateway
- Ensure the module is powered on (power restored after installation).
- Open your EMOS GoSmart app (or your compatible ZigBee hub app like Tuya Smart Life).
- Initiate the "Add Device" or "Pairing" process within the app.
- Press and hold the RESET button on the EMOS GoSmart module for approximately 5-10 seconds until the LED indicator starts blinking rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
- The app should detect the new device. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.
- Once paired, you can rename the switches (e.g., "Living Room Light 1", "Living Room Light 2") within the app for easier control.
Note: If pairing fails, ensure the module is within range of your ZigBee gateway and try again. You may need to reset the module by holding the RESET button for a longer duration (e.g., 15-20 seconds) to factory reset it before attempting to pair again.
7. Operating Instructions
The EMOS GoSmart module offers multiple ways to control your lighting.
7.1 Via EMOS GoSmart App
- Open the EMOS GoSmart app on your smartphone.
- Select the paired switch module.
- Tap on "Switch 1" or "Switch 2" to toggle the respective light circuit ON or OFF.
- Utilize the app's features for scheduling, timers, and scene creation to automate your lighting.
7.2 Via Voice Control (Alexa/Google Assistant)
Once integrated with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, you can control your lights using voice commands.
- Ensure your EMOS GoSmart account is linked to your Alexa or Google Home app.
- Discover devices in your Alexa/Google Home app.
- Use commands such as:
- "Alexa, turn on Living Room Light 1."
- "Hey Google, turn off Living Room Light 2."
- "Alexa, set Living Room Light 1 to 50%." (If connected to a dimmable load via a compatible dimmer module, not this switch module)
7.3 Via Traditional Wall Switch
The connected traditional wall switch will continue to function normally, providing manual control over the lights even when the smart module is installed.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect power before cleaning. Wipe the module and switch plate with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the EMOS GoSmart app for available firmware updates for the module to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the module is not exposed to excessive moisture, extreme temperatures, or direct sunlight.
9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Module not responding / Lights not turning on/off. | No power to the module. Incorrect wiring. Module not paired. | Check circuit breaker. Verify wiring according to Section 5.2. Attempt pairing again (Section 6.2). |
| Cannot pair module with gateway. | Module not in pairing mode. Module too far from gateway. Gateway not functioning. | Ensure LED is blinking rapidly (Section 6.2). Move module closer to gateway or use a ZigBee repeater. Check gateway's power and network connection. |
| App shows "Offline" status. | ZigBee gateway disconnected. Module lost connection to gateway. | Check your ZigBee gateway's internet connection. Power cycle the module (turn off/on at breaker) and check if it reconnects. Re-pair if necessary. |
| Traditional switch not working. | Incorrect wiring of S1/S2 terminals. Faulty traditional switch. | Verify connections to S1/S2 terminals. Test the traditional switch independently. |
