Connecting the Device:

  1. Locate the integrated USB A/USB C data cable at the bottom of the device.
  2. Connect the appropriate end of the data cable (USB-A or USB-C) to an available USB port on your laptop or desktop computer.

Operating the Device

Disc Insertion and Ejection:

  • To insert a disc, gently press the pop-up button on the front of the drive. The disc tray will open. Place the disc label-side up onto the tray. Gently push the tray back into the drive until it clicks.
  • To eject a disc: For Windows, you can typically use the pop-up button or the eject option in 'This PC'/'My Computer'. For Mac OS, you must eject the disc via the Mac OS command (e.g., dragging the disc icon to the trash or using the 'Eject' option in Finder). The physical eject button on the drive will not function for ejection on Mac OS.
  • In case of emergency or if the pop-up button is unresponsive, a small pinhole for forced ejection is located near the pop-up button. Insert a thin, pointed object (like a paperclip) into this hole to manually open the tray.

Supported Disc Formats:

The drive supports a wide range of disc formats for both reading and writing:

  • Storage: When not in use, store the drive in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The included carrying case provides excellent protection during transport and storage.
  • Cable Management: The integrated data cable can be neatly stored in its designated slot at the bottom of the device, preventing tangles and damage.
  • Stability: The drive features an anti-slip rubber pad on its base to prevent accidental sliding during use. Ensure it is placed on a stable, flat surface.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ORIGBELIE External CD DVD Drive, please refer to the following common solutions:

Device Not Detected / Not Working:

  • Check Connections: Ensure the USB data cable is securely connected to both the drive and your computer's USB port. Try a different USB port on your computer.
  • Power Supply: Verify that the drive is receiving sufficient power. If using the DC 5V power port, ensure the power cable is connected to a reliable 5V power source. Insufficient power is a common cause of read/write errors or non-detection.
  • Restart Computer: Sometimes a simple computer restart can resolve detection issues.
  • Mac OS Specific: Remember that on Mac OS, the drive icon will only appear once a disc is inserted and successfully read.

Disc Read/Write Errors:

  • Clean Disc: Ensure the disc is clean and free of scratches or smudges. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe from the center outwards.
  • Disc Format: Verify that the disc format is supported by the drive (CD±R/RW, CD-ROM, DVD±R/RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL, VCD, SVCD). Blu-ray discs are not supported.
  • Region Code (DVDs): For DVDs, ensure the disc's region code matches the drive's region setting.
  • Software: Ensure you have appropriate media player software installed (e.g., VLC Media Player for Windows 11).
  • Power Supply: As mentioned above, insufficient power can lead to read/write failures.

Ethernet Connection Issues:

  • Cable Check: Ensure the RJ45 Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the drive and your network source.
  • Network Settings: Check your computer's network settings to ensure the Ethernet adapter is recognized and configured correctly.
