Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the walkie talkie.
- Slide the cover downwards or unclip it to open.
- Insert the required batteries (typically AAA, refer to packaging for exact type and quantity) according to the polarity markings (+/-) inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and ensure it is securely latched.

2. Powering On/Off
- To power on: Press and hold the Power button until the LCD screen illuminates.
- To power off: Press and hold the Power button until the LCD screen turns off.
Operating Instructions
1. Channel Selection
- Press the MENU button once. The channel number on the LCD will flash.
- Use the Up/Down buttons (often integrated with MON/SCAN or separate) to select your desired channel (1-8).
- Press the MENU button again to confirm the selection, or wait a few seconds for it to auto-confirm.
Note: For communication, all walkie talkies in your group must be set to the same channel and CTCSS code. The device supports 22 FRS channels and 99 CTCSS sub-tones for various combinations.
2. CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) Codes
- Press the MENU button twice. The CTCSS code number will flash.
- Use the Up/Down buttons to select a CTCSS code (0-99). Code 0 typically means no CTCSS is active.
- Press the MENU button again to confirm.
3. Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit: Press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button (usually on the side of the unit). Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen.
- To receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The walkie talkie will automatically receive transmissions on the selected channel and CTCSS code.
4. VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)
VOX allows for hands-free transmission. When activated, the walkie talkie will transmit automatically when it detects your voice.
- Press the MENU button until the VOX icon appears and flashes on the LCD.
- Use the Up/Down buttons to select a VOX sensitivity level (e.g., 1-3, with 1 being most sensitive). Select "OFF" to disable VOX.
- Press the MENU button to confirm.

5. Scan Function
The scan function allows the walkie talkie to automatically search for active channels.
- Press the SCAN button. The walkie talkie will begin scanning through channels.
- When an active channel is detected, the scan will pause.
- To stop scanning, press the SCAN button again.
6. LED Flashlight
- To turn on the flashlight: Press the Flashlight button.
- To turn off the flashlight: Press the Flashlight button again.

7. Keypad Lock
To prevent accidental changes to settings, you can lock the keypad.
- To lock: Press and hold the MENU button until a key icon appears on the LCD.
- To unlock: Press and hold the MENU button again until the key icon disappears.
8. Communication Range
The effective communication range varies based on terrain and environmental conditions:
- Mountain to Valley: Up to 6 miles
- Open Air: Up to 4 miles
- City or Town: Up to 2 miles

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the walkie talkie. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and store the device in a cool, dry place.
- Water Exposure: This device is Not Water Resistant. Avoid exposure to rain, splashes, or immersion in water.
- Battery Care: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
