3. Setup

3.1 Initial Battery Activation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the sensor.
2. Remove the insulation strip from the pre-installed AAA batteries. This activates the sensor.
3. Close the battery compartment securely.

3.2 App Download

Download the Smart Life app or Tuya Smart app from your mobile device's app store (Google Play Store for Android or Apple App Store for iOS).

4. App Installation & Pairing

Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The sensor does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.

1. Open the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app and register/log in to your account.
2. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a new device.
3. Select "Security & Video Surveillance" > "Motion Sensor (Wi-Fi)" or search for "Motion Sensor".
4. Follow the in-app instructions to put the sensor into pairing mode. This usually involves pressing and holding a button on the sensor until an indicator light flashes.
5. Confirm the indicator light is flashing rapidly in the app.
6. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password.
7. Wait for the app to connect to the device. Once connected, you can rename the sensor and complete the setup.

5. Operation

5.1 Motion Detection

The sensor uses infrared technology to detect movement within its 7-meter range and 128° wide-angle view. When motion is detected, the sensor triggers an event.

5.2 App Notifications

Upon detection of motion, the app will send an alert notification to your smartphone. Ensure app notifications are enabled in your phone's settings for the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app.

6. Smart Home Integration

• In the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app, navigate to the "Smart" or "Automation" section.

1. Ensure your motion sensor is successfully added to the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app.
2. Open the Amazon Alexa app.
3. Go to "Skills & Games" and search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart".
4. Enable the skill and link your Smart Life/Tuya Smart account using your app credentials.
5. Discover devices. Alexa should find your motion sensor.
6. You can now create Alexa routines based on motion detection (e.g., "When motion is detected by [Sensor Name], then [Action]").

7. Installation Methods

The compact design of the motion sensor allows for flexible installation in various locations.

• Laying Flat: Place the sensor on any flat surface, such as a table or shelf.
• Hanging: Use the integrated lanyard loop to hang the sensor.
• Wall Mounting: Attach the sensor to a wall or other vertical surface using the provided adhesive backing or screws. Ensure the sensor is positioned to cover the desired detection area.

8. Maintenance

8.1 Battery Replacement

The sensor is powered by 2x AAA alkaline batteries. The typical battery life is up to 12 months, depending on usage.

1. When the app indicates a low battery, replace both AAA batteries.
2. Open the battery compartment.
3. Remove the old batteries and insert new AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
4. Close the battery compartment securely.

8.2 Low Battery Alarm

The sensor will send a low battery alert message via the app when the power level is low, prompting you to replace the batteries.

9. Troubleshooting

• Sensor not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal. The sensor does not support 5GHz networks. Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct. Move the sensor closer to the router during pairing.
• No app notifications: Check your phone's notification settings for the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app to ensure they are enabled. Verify the sensor is online in the app.
• Motion not detected or false alarms: Adjust the sensor's placement to optimize its field of view. Avoid placing it near heat sources, direct sunlight, or areas with significant air currents (e.g., near vents) that could cause false triggers. Ensure the detection range is appropriate for the area.
• Short battery life: Ensure you are using fresh, high-quality AAA alkaline batteries. Frequent motion detection events can reduce battery life.
• Alexa integration issues: Confirm the Smart Life/Tuya Smart skill is enabled in the Alexa app and your accounts are correctly linked. Try rediscovering devices in the Alexa app.
