4. Setup and First Use

3. Initial Rinse Cycle: Fill the water reservoir with cold water up to the 12-cup mark. Do not add coffee grounds. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Discard the water from the carafe.

Setting the Clock:

• Plug in the coffee maker. The digital display will flash "12:00 AM".
• Press the "HOUR" button to set the hour. The time will advance. Pay attention to AM/PM indicator.
• Press the "MINUTE" button to set the minutes.
• The clock is set automatically after a few seconds of inactivity.

Brewing Coffee:

1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with cold, fresh water to your desired level, using the water level indicator on the side. Do not exceed the 12-cup MAX line.
2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter into the filter holder. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level scoop (provided) per cup of coffee, but adjust to your taste. Close the top lid securely.

7. Keep Warm: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" mode, maintaining the coffee's temperature for a set period (typically 2 hours). The freshness timer on the display will show how long the coffee has been warming.
8. Turn Off: To turn off the coffee maker manually, press the "BREW NOW" button again. It will also automatically shut off after the warming cycle.

Programming Brew Later:

4. Press the "BREW LATER" button again to confirm the setting. The indicator light will remain illuminated, and the coffee maker will begin brewing at the programmed time.

• Daily Cleaning: After each use, unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool. Remove the carafe, reusable filter, and filter holder. These parts are dishwasher-safe (top rack only) or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• Descaling (Cleaning Cycle): Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect performance. The "CLEAN" indicator light will illuminate when descaling is recommended.
