1. Product Overview

The Godox ML-SF50 Octagon Softbox is a light modifier designed to diffuse and soften the light output from compatible LED video lights and strobes. 3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble and prepare your Godox ML-SF50 Octagon Softbox for use:

1. Unfold the Softbox: Carefully remove the softbox from its carrying bag. The softbox is designed for quick folding, but some initial resistance may be felt when expanding it for the first time. Gently push the support rods outwards until the softbox forms its octagonal shape and locks into place. Ensure all rods are fully extended and secured.
2. Attach to Light Fixture: Align the Godox mount on the rear of the softbox with the mounting mechanism on your compatible Godox LED light (e.g., ML100Bi, ML60II Bi). Securely attach the softbox to the light fixture, ensuring it is firmly seated and locked.
3. Attach Diffuser (Optional): The softbox typically includes an inner and outer diffuser. Attach these to the interior of the softbox using the provided Velcro fasteners for softer light output.
4. Attach Honeycomb Grid (Optional): For more directional light and reduced light spill, attach the honeycomb grid to the front edge of the softbox using the Velcro strips.

4. Operating Instructions

Once assembled and attached to your light source, the ML-SF50 softbox is ready for operation. Its primary function is to modify light for various photographic and videographic applications.

• Light Softening: The internal reflective material and diffuser panels work together to spread and soften the light, reducing harsh shadows and creating a more flattering illumination.

• Softbox is difficult to open/unfold:

• Softbox does not attach securely to the light:

  Verify that your light fixture has a compatible Godox mount. Ensure the softbox mount is correctly aligned and fully engaged with the light's mounting mechanism. Check for any obstructions or debris.

• Light output is uneven or too harsh:

  Ensure all diffuser panels (inner and outer) are correctly installed. Check the positioning of your light source within the softbox. If the honeycomb grid is attached, remove it for a broader, softer light spread.
