Installation
The Moni i-Size Start car seat is installed using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt and the top tether system. Always refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for specific instructions on top tether anchorage points.
Step-by-Step Installation:
- Position the Car Seat: Place the car seat on the desired vehicle seat, ensuring it sits flat against the vehicle's backrest.
- Route the Vehicle Seat Belt:
- Pull the vehicle's 3-point seat belt around the child car seat.
- Thread the lap portion of the seat belt through the designated blue belt guides on the car seat base.
- Thread the shoulder portion of the seat belt through the red belt guide near the headrest.
- Buckle the vehicle seat belt.
- Tighten the Vehicle Seat Belt: Press down firmly on the car seat while pulling the vehicle's shoulder belt to remove all slack. Ensure the car seat is securely installed and does not move more than 2.5 cm (1 inch) side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
- Attach the Top Tether:
- Locate the top tether anchorage point in your vehicle (refer to your vehicle's manual).
- Attach the top tether hook from the car seat to the vehicle's top tether anchorage point.
- Tighten the top tether strap until it is taut, removing any slack.

Operation
Securing Your Child (5-point harness for younger children):
- Place Child: Sit your child in the car seat with their back flat against the backrest.
- Fasten Harness: Bring the two buckle tongues together and insert them into the central buckle until you hear a click.
- Tighten Harness: Pull the harness adjustment strap located at the front of the seat until the harness is snug against your child's body. You should not be able to pinch any slack at the shoulder.
- Adjust Headrest: Adjust the headrest height so that the shoulder straps are at or slightly above your child's shoulders. The headrest has 13 adjustable positions.

Securing Your Child (Vehicle's 3-point seat belt for older children):
Once your child outgrows the 5-point harness (check height/weight limits in specifications), the car seat transitions to a high-back booster using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.
- Remove Harness: Follow instructions in the maintenance section to remove the 5-point harness.
- Position Child: Sit your child in the car seat.
- Route Vehicle Belt: Guide the vehicle's 3-point seat belt across your child and through the red belt guide near the headrest. The lap belt should sit low across the hips, and the shoulder belt should rest across the center of the shoulder and chest, not on the neck or off the shoulder.
- Buckle and Tighten: Buckle the vehicle seat belt and ensure it is snug and properly positioned.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Cover:
The car seat cover is removable and washable (100% polyester). Follow these steps:
- Carefully unfasten all clips, elastic loops, and Velcro attachments to remove the fabric cover from the car seat frame.
- Machine wash the cover on a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Do not use bleach.
- Air dry the cover completely. Do not tumble dry or iron.
- Reattach the cover to the car seat frame, ensuring all parts are correctly secured.
Cleaning the Harness and Plastic Parts:
- Wipe plastic parts with a damp cloth and mild soap.
- Clean the harness straps with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not immerse the harness in water or use harsh chemicals, as this can weaken the webbing.
- Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly or use.
Removing the 5-Point Harness:
When your child is ready to transition to using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt with the car seat as a high-back booster, the 5-point harness can be removed. Consult the detailed diagrams in the full product manual for specific steps. Generally, this involves unthreading the shoulder straps from the back of the seat and detaching the crotch buckle from the seat base.
