1. Product Overview
The Camelion 3-in-1 Emergency Night Light (Model NL188) is a versatile plug-in LED device designed to provide illumination and safety in various home environments. It integrates three primary functions: a night light, a motion-activated guide light, and an automatic power failure light. Its compact design ensures it does not obstruct adjacent electrical outlets.
2. Key Features
- 3-in-1 Functionality: Operates as a night light, motion-activated guide light, and an automatic power failure light.
- Automatic Power Failure Mode: Automatically activates a bright white LED (6000K) for 25 seconds during power outages, then resumes the selected mode.
- Advanced Dusk to Dawn Motion Sensor: Integrated light and motion sensor automatically turns the night light on at dusk and off at dawn, optimizing energy use.
- Two Night Light Options: Choose between Auto-Dimming and Motion Sensing modes for soft white light (warm white).
- Versatile Placement: Suitable for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms, stairways, and kitchens.
- Compact Design: Ensures the device does not block the second electrical outlet.
3. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the night light from its packaging.
- Battery Activation: Before first use, locate and remove the small plastic tab from the battery compartment to activate the internal backup battery. This ensures the power failure function operates correctly.
- Plug-in: Insert the night light into a standard 110V AC wall outlet. Ensure it is securely plugged in.
- Initial Charge: Allow the unit to charge for at least 24 hours to ensure the internal battery is fully charged for optimal power failure performance.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Night Light Modes
The night light offers two primary modes for ambient lighting, selectable via a switch on the side of the unit:
- Auto-Dimming Mode: When motion is detected, the light turns on at full brightness for 25 seconds, then dims if no further motion is sensed. This mode is ideal for gentle, prolonged illumination.
- Motion Sensing Mode: The light provides bright illumination for 25 seconds with each motion activation and automatically turns off after 25 seconds if no further motion is detected. This mode is suitable for quick, temporary lighting.
4.2 Power Failure Mode
In the event of a power outage, the night light's built-in battery automatically activates, switching the light to a bright white LED (6000K) at low brightness for 25 seconds. This provides immediate emergency illumination. After 25 seconds, it will return to the previously selected night light mode (if power is restored) or remain in a low-power state if the outage persists.
4.3 Portable Use (Flashlight/Tabletop Light)
The night light can be removed from the wall outlet and used as a portable flashlight or tabletop light. Simply unplug the unit and use the integrated button to cycle through different light settings for handheld or stationary use.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
- Battery Care: The internal battery is designed for long-term use. Ensure the unit is regularly plugged into an outlet to keep the battery charged. If stored for extended periods, periodically plug it in to maintain battery health.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
6. Troubleshooting
- Motion Sensor Not Working:
- Ambient Light: The motion sensor may not activate if the ambient light is too bright. Ensure the area is sufficiently dark for the sensor to function.
- Sensing Angle: The motion sensor requires a cross-section angle difference to be triggered. Walking directly towards the night light may not activate it. Movement across its field of view is more effective.
- Interference: Avoid placing two night lights too close to each other. The light from one unit may be perceived as ambient light by the other, preventing its motion sensor from activating.
- Light Not Turning On:
- Check Power: Ensure the unit is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Mode Selection: Verify the switch is set to either 'Auto-Dimming' or 'Motion Sensing' mode, not 'Off'.
- Battery Tab: Confirm the battery activation tab has been removed (see Setup section).
- Power Failure Light Not Activating:
- Battery Charge: Ensure the unit has been plugged in for sufficient time to charge its internal battery.
- Battery Tab: Confirm the battery activation tab has been removed.
Video 2: Explains common reasons why the motion sensor might not work, such as ambient light conditions or sensing angle.
