3. Setup

3.1 Initial Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the Mini PC and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 19V port on the rear of the Mini PC and then to a power outlet.
  3. Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and monitor to the appropriate ports.
  4. Power On: Press the power button located on the front panel. The system will boot up.
  5. Operating System Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Windows 11 initial setup.

3.2 Connecting Peripherals

The KODLIX GD70 Mini PC offers a variety of ports for connecting external devices:

  • USB Devices: Use the USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports (front) or USB 2.0 ports (rear) for keyboards, mice, external drives, and other USB accessories. The USB-C port also supports data transfer.
  • Audio: Connect headphones or speakers to the 3.5mm audio jack on the front panel.
  • Printers/Scanners: Connect via available USB ports.

3.3 Display Setup

The Mini PC supports up to three 4K@60Hz displays simultaneously using HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and the USB-C port.

  • Single Display: Connect your monitor to either the HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C port.
  • Dual/Triple Display: Connect additional monitors to the remaining available video output ports. Ensure your monitors support the desired resolution and refresh rate.
  • Configuration: Once connected, configure display settings within Windows 11 (Right-click on desktop > Display settings) to extend or duplicate your desktop.

3.4 Network Connection

The GD70 offers both wired and wireless network connectivity.

  • Wired LAN: Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or modem to the 2.5G RJ45 LAN port on the rear of the Mini PC for high-speed wired internet access.
  • Wi-Fi: The Mini PC supports Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) for fast wireless connectivity. Access network settings in Windows 11 to connect to your preferred Wi-Fi network.
  • Bluetooth: Bluetooth 5.2 allows you to connect wireless peripherals such as headphones, keyboards, and mice. Enable Bluetooth in Windows 11 settings and pair your devices.

4. Operating

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press the power button on the front panel.
  • Power Off: To shut down the system, go to the Start Menu in Windows 11, select Power, and then choose "Shut down." Do not unplug the power adapter directly without proper shutdown to prevent data loss.
  • Restart: To restart, select Power, and then choose "Restart."

4.2 Operating System

The KODLIX GD70 Mini PC comes pre-installed with Windows 11. Ensure your operating system is regularly updated for optimal performance and security.

4.3 Storage Expansion

The GD70 offers flexible storage expansion options.

  • M.2 SSD: The pre-installed 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe4.0 SSD can be upgraded to a maximum of 2TB.
  • 2.5-inch SATA HDD: An additional 2.5-inch SATA 3.0 HDD (not included) can be installed for expanded storage. This slot supports SATA 3.0 at 6.0Gb/s.
  • RAM: The 32GB DDR4 RAM (2x16GB) can be upgraded to a maximum of 64GB by replacing the existing SODIMM modules.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Exterior: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the Mini PC. Avoid liquid cleaners.
  • Vents: Periodically use compressed air to clear dust from the ventilation grilles to ensure proper airflow and cooling.

5.2 Software Updates

Regularly update your Windows 11 operating system and device drivers to maintain system stability, security, and performance. Access Windows Update through the Settings menu.

5.3 Hardware Upgrades

To access internal components for upgrades (RAM, M.2 SSD, 2.5" HDD), carefully remove the bottom panel of the Mini PC. This typically involves removing screws located under the rubber feet. Exercise caution to avoid damaging internal components or cables.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your KODLIX GD70 Mini PC, consider the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet. Check the power button.
  • No Display: Verify that the monitor is powered on and correctly connected to the Mini PC's video output ports (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C). Try a different cable or monitor if possible.
  • No Internet: For wired connections, check the Ethernet cable and router. For Wi-Fi, ensure the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled and you are connected to the correct network with the correct password.
  • Slow Performance: Check for background applications, ensure sufficient free storage space, and verify that Windows and drivers are up to date.
  • Peripheral Not Detected: Ensure the peripheral is properly connected to the correct port. Try a different port or restart the Mini PC.
  • Clear CMOS: If experiencing boot issues or incorrect BIOS settings, use the Clear CMOS button on the front panel (refer to Figure 2.3 for location). This will reset BIOS settings to default.
