3.1. IP67 Waterproof and Dustproof Rating

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Ensure the radio is powered off.
  2. Align the 1000mAh Lithium Polymer battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  3. Gently push the battery until it clicks into place.
  4. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the radio's USB-C port and plug the charger into a power source. The charging indicator will illuminate.
  5. Charge the battery for approximately 3 hours for a full charge.

4.2. Attaching Accessories

  • Belt Clip: Attach the back case with clip to the rear of the radio for easy carrying.
  • Lanyard: Secure the lanyard to the designated loop on the radio to prevent accidental drops.
  • Earpiece: Plug the earpiece with mic into the K1 headset port on the side of the radio.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off and Volume Control

  • Power On: Rotate the power/volume knob clockwise until you hear a click and the display illuminates.
  • Power Off: Rotate the power/volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
  • Volume Adjustment: Continue rotating the power/volume knob to adjust the listening volume.

5.2. Channel Selection

Use the CH+ and CH- buttons on the side of the radio to cycle through the 22 available FRS channels. The selected channel number will be shown on the hidden LED display.

5.3. Transmitting and Receiving (PTT)

  • To transmit, press and hold the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  • Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.

5.4. VOX Function

The VOX function allows you to transmit without pressing the PTT button. To activate/deactivate VOX, it must be configured via the programming software (ODmaster APP/Web or CPS) and assigned to a programmable side key.

5.5. NOAA Weather Radio

To access NOAA weather alerts, this function must be configured via the programming software and assigned to a programmable side key. Long press the assigned side key to activate the weather alert feature.

5.6. Advanced Programming (ODmaster APP/Web & CPS)

For advanced customization of channels, CTCSS/DCS codes, power levels, and other features, use the ODmaster APP (for smartphones) or ODmaster Web (for PC) via Bluetooth. Alternatively, use the traditional CPS software with a 2-pin programming cable.

  • Bluetooth Programming: Long press the CH+ button to turn Bluetooth on/off. Pair your device with the radio via the ODmaster APP/Web.
  • CPS Programming: Connect the radio to your PC using a compatible 2-pin programming cable. Launch the CPS software and follow the on-screen instructions.

5.7. Wireless Radio Replication

This feature allows you to quickly copy all settings from one TD-M11 radio (master) to another (slave). Refer to the programming software for detailed instructions on initiating replication.

5.8. Other Functions

  • Scramble: Encrypts your voice for private conversations.
  • SOS Emergency Alert: Activates an alert signal in emergencies.
  • TOT (Time-Out Timer): Limits transmission duration to prevent accidental continuous transmission.
  • Squelch (0-9): Adjusts the receiver's sensitivity to background noise.
  • Compander: Improves call quality by compressing and expanding the audio signal.

These functions can be configured and activated through the ODmaster APP/Web or CPS software.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning

Wipe the radio with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all port covers are securely closed to maintain IP67 rating.

6.2. Battery Care

  • Charge the battery fully before first use.
  • Avoid overcharging or completely draining the battery.
  • Store the radio and battery in a cool, dry place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Radio not powering on: Check battery charge and ensure it is correctly installed.
  • Cannot transmit/receive: Verify channel selection, ensure PTT button is pressed correctly, and check for obstructions or excessive distance.
  • Programming issues with ODmaster APP: Try removing and reinstalling the app. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices.
  • Poor audio quality: Adjust squelch level, check earpiece connection, or activate the compander function via programming.
