2. Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. Adhere to the following guidelines during assembly and use:

  • Secure Anchoring: Always securely anchor the gazebo to the ground to withstand high winds. All necessary accessories for wall attachment are provided.
  • Snow Removal: In areas with snowfall, ensure the gazebo roof is regularly cleared of snow to prevent overloading the structure. The roof is designed to withstand approximately 7 inches of heavy snow (6 lbs/sq.ft), but excessive accumulation should be avoided.
  • Assembly Personnel: Assembly typically requires two people. A third person can be helpful for certain steps.
  • Tool Safety: Use appropriate tools as instructed. A power drill is highly recommended for tightening fasteners.
  • Part Integrity: Do not use damaged or missing parts. Contact customer support immediately if any components are missing or defective.

3. Product Features

The AECOJOY Gazebo is engineered with several key features for durability, protection, and ease of use:

3.1 Robust Construction

  • Material: Constructed from high-quality aluminum and metal for the frame, combined with durable sun panels for the roof.
  • Stability: Designed to be wall-mounted, providing superior stability compared to traditional freestanding gazebos. When securely fixed and stabilized, it can withstand winds of approximately 70 mph.
  • Snow Capacity: The hard top roof is rigorously tested to withstand 6 lbs/sq.ft, equivalent to about 7 inches of heavy snow, making it suitable for various climates.

3.2 Weather Protection

  • Waterproof Performance: The inclined roof design and meticulous detailing ensure complete water resistance, verified through extensive outdoor testing.
  • UV Protection: The awning roof covers an area of 160 sq.ft., providing comprehensive protection against harmful UV rays with a UPF 50++ rating.

3.3 Design and Structure

  • Sun Panels: Heavily tinted panels allow some light through while blocking UV rays.
  • Aluminum Tubes: Crisscrossing aluminum tubes provide strong support for the top panels, contributing to high load ratings.
  • Triangle Structure: Triangular structures enhance the overall stability of the gazebo.
  • Keyholes: Multiple keyholes ensure each frame is stable.
  • Stable Frame Legs: Features 4 pre-drilled holes for easy attachment to any type of floor.
  • Wall Studs: Each column has additional holes for secure attachment to a wall.

4. Setup and Installation

The AECOJOY Gazebo is designed for effortless installation. Refer to the detailed manuals and step-by-step video tutorials provided by the manufacturer for comprehensive guidance.

4.1 Before You Begin

  • Package Delivery: Your gazebo may arrive in 3 separate packages. Ensure all packages have been received before starting assembly.
  • Tools Required: A power drill is absolutely necessary for proper assembly. A rubber mallet and putty knives may also be helpful, especially for installing roof panels.
  • Personnel: This is a two-person assembly project.
  • Site Preparation: Choose a level and stable surface for installation. Ensure the wall where the gazebo will be mounted is structurally sound.

4.2 Assembly Tips

  • Check Parts: Before assembly, check all threaded holes for paint and clear any 'punch' tabs. This will ensure smoother assembly.
  • Fasteners: Do not lose any bolts or nuts; no extras are provided. Be mindful that some bolts may be cheap and heads can strip easily.
  • Frame Assembly: When constructing the frame, leave bolts for arm and beam connectors (brackets) finger-tight initially. This allows for easier adjustment when installing the roof panels. Tighten all fasteners securely once panels are in place.
  • Roof Panel Installation: The protective film on the roof panels should be removed before installation, contrary to some initial instructions. Using a solution of soap and water in a spray bottle can help the panels slide into the middle board connector slots more easily. Ensure the 'leak' holes on the panels are facing upwards.
  • Anchoring: Securely anchor all five legs and attach the pergola to the house as instructed for maximum stability. If not attaching to the house, consider adding additional bracing for the back legs.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and continued performance of your gazebo, regular maintenance is recommended:

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the roof panels and frame with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish or panels.
  • Snow Load: As mentioned in safety, clear snow from the roof promptly to prevent structural strain.
  • Fastener Check: Annually inspect all bolts and connections to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten as necessary.
  • Panel Integrity: While durable, if roof panels are damaged, replacements may be available. Some customers have found compatible panels at major home improvement retailers.
  • Waterproofing: Consider applying a silicone caulk down the center seams of the roof panels for enhanced waterproofing, especially in areas prone to heavy rain.
