Introduction
Welcome to your new WEIZE Mountain Bike. This manual provides essential information for safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your 27.5-inch, 18-speed dual suspension bicycle. Please read this manual thoroughly before your first ride and keep it for future reference.
Safety Information
General Safety Guidelines
- Always wear a helmet that meets safety standards.
- Perform a pre-ride safety check before each use, including brakes, tires, and quick releases.
- Ensure tires are inflated to the recommended pressure.
- Familiarize yourself with local traffic laws and regulations.
- Ride within your skill level and avoid riding in conditions that exceed your capabilities.
- Be visible: use lights and reflective gear, especially when riding in low light conditions.
Assembly Instructions
Your WEIZE Mountain Bike arrives partially assembled. Follow these steps carefully for proper setup. It is recommended to watch the installation video for visual guidance.
Installation Video
This official video provides a step-by-step guide for assembling your WEIZE Mountain Bike, covering all necessary components and adjustments.
Step-by-Step Assembly
1. Handlebar Installation
Insert the handlebar stem into the fork tube. Ensure the minimum insertion line on the stem is not visible above the headset. Align the handlebars straight with the front wheel and tighten the stem bolt securely using an Allen wrench.

This image shows the handlebar assembly and front fork, highlighting the suspension fork and knobby tires.
2. Front Wheel Attachment
Carefully align the front wheel with the fork dropouts. Ensure the brake rotor is correctly positioned within the brake caliper. Secure the wheel using the quick-release skewer or axle nuts, ensuring it is tight and the wheel spins freely without wobbling.

This image illustrates the front wheel and brake mechanism, showing the linear pull brakes.
3. Pedal Installation
Identify the left (marked 'L') and right (marked 'R') pedals. The left pedal threads counter-clockwise, and the right pedal threads clockwise. Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and tighten them firmly with a wrench. Ensure they are fully seated to prevent loosening during use.
4. Seat Post and Saddle Adjustment
Insert the seat post into the frame's seat tube. Adjust the saddle height to ensure a comfortable and efficient riding position, allowing a slight bend in your knee at the bottom of the pedal stroke. Secure with the quick-release lever, ensuring it is firmly closed.

This image highlights the adjustable seat post and rear coil shock suspension, along with the sturdy steel frame.
Operating Your Bike
Shifting Gears
Your bike features an 18-speed drivetrain with twist shifters for effortless gear changes.
- Right Shifter (Rear Derailleur): Controls the rear gears. Shift to smaller numbers for easier pedaling (e.g., uphill), and larger numbers for harder pedaling (e.g., downhill or speed).
- Left Shifter (Front Derailleur): Controls the front chainrings. Shift to a smaller chainring for climbing and a larger one for higher speeds.

This image shows the 18-speed gear system and twist shifters, designed for smooth transitions.
Braking
The bike is equipped with front and rear linear pull brakes for reliable stopping power.
- Right Brake Lever: Controls the rear brake.
- Left Brake Lever: Controls the front brake.
- Apply both brakes simultaneously for controlled stopping. Avoid sudden front braking, especially at high speeds, to prevent loss of control.
Maintenance
Regular Checks
- Tires: Check tire pressure before each ride. Refer to the recommended pressure on the tire sidewall.
- Brakes: Ensure brake levers are responsive and brake pads are not excessively worn. Adjust as needed.
- Chain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth shifting and prevent premature wear.
- Bolts & Fasteners: Periodically check all bolts and fasteners, especially on the handlebars, seat post, and wheels, for tightness.
Cleaning
Clean your bike regularly with mild soap and water. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on bearings, as this can force water and dirt into the components, causing damage. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
- Brakes dragging: If your brake pads are rubbing against the wheel rim, you may need to adjust the brake cable tension or the position of the brake pads.
This official video from Arkpower (a seller) provides instructions on adjusting the front brake line to resolve dragging issues.
- Gears not shifting smoothly: This can be caused by incorrect derailleur alignment, stretched cables, or a dirty chain. Check these components and adjust as necessary.
- Flat tire: Inspect the tire for punctures. If found, repair or replace the inner tube. Ensure the tire is properly seated on the rim before re-inflating.
