2. Setup
2.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

2.2 Adding Engine Oil
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Using the provided oil funnel, slowly add the supplied engine oil (SAE 10W-30 recommended) until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.

2.3 Adding Fuel
The iQ3500 operates on gasoline. Ensure the generator is off and cool before adding fuel. Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. The fuel tank capacity is 2.6 Imperial Gallons. Do not overfill.
2.4 Battery Connection (Electric Start)
For electric start functionality, connect the included battery according to the instructions in the owner's manual. Ensure proper polarity.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and away from any obstructions.
- Turn the PowerDial™ to the "Start" position.
- For electric start, press and hold the electric start button until the engine starts. For manual start, pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
- Once started, turn the PowerDial™ to the "Run" position.

3.2 Eco Mode Operation
The iQ3500 features an Eco Mode to reduce noise and fuel consumption during periods of low power demand. To activate, switch the Eco Mode toggle to "On". The generator will automatically adjust engine speed based on the load. For maximum power response, switch Eco Mode to "Off".

3.3 Connecting Devices
Once the generator is running, you can connect your electrical devices to the appropriate outlets. The iQ3500 provides various outlets including 120V AC, 12V DC, and USB ports. For RV use, utilize the NEMA TT-30R RV outlet. Ensure the total wattage of connected devices does not exceed the running wattage of 3000 Watts.

3.4 COsense Technology
The integrated COsense technology automatically shuts down the generator if hazardous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. This feature provides powerful protection against carbon monoxide poisoning. Always operate the generator outdoors and away from windows, doors, and vents.

- Engine Surging/Hunting at Idle: This can often be caused by a clogged carburetor jet. Cleaning the idle jet may resolve this issue.
- Overload Alarm: If the overload alarm activates, reduce the electrical load connected to the generator.
- COsense Shutdown: If the generator shuts down unexpectedly, ensure it is operating in a well-ventilated outdoor area. Move the generator to a location with fresh air and attempt to restart.
