  1. Starting the Trimmer:
    • Ensure the battery is securely installed.
    • Grip the main handle and the auxiliary handle firmly.
    • Press and hold the safety lock-out button, then squeeze the trigger switch to start the trimmer.

  2. Stopping the Trimmer:

  3. Adjusting the Articulating Head:
    • Ensure the trimmer is OFF and the battery is removed before adjusting the head.
    • Locate the head adjustment button/lever.
    • Press the button/lever and adjust the cutting head to one of the 7 available positions.
    • Release the button/lever and ensure the head locks securely into place before use. This allows for precise cuts at various angles.
  4. Trimming Techniques:
    • Horizontal Trimming: Hold the trimmer with the blades slightly angled (5-10 degrees) towards the direction of cut. Move the trimmer smoothly and evenly along the top of the hedge.
    • Vertical Trimming: Hold the trimmer vertically and sweep the blades in an arc motion from bottom to top, or top to bottom, depending on the desired finish.
    • Cutting Thick Branches: The trimmer can cut branches up to 1.2 inches thick. For thicker branches, use a slow, steady motion, allowing the blades to work through the material. Do not force the tool.
    • Reaching Tall Hedges: Utilize the 7.5 ft extension feature to reach high areas without the need for a ladder. Maintain a stable stance and keep both hands on the tool.
