5. Operating Instructions

The K Knowbody Metal Carport is designed for straightforward use as a protective shelter.

  • Park your vehicle or store equipment centrally within the carport's footprint for optimal protection.
  • Ensure no objects are leaning against the carport frame or roof panels.
  • In areas prone to heavy snowfall, periodically remove excessive snow accumulation from the roof to prevent structural strain, although the roof is rated for 550lbs/Sq.Ft.
  • During extreme weather events (e.g., hurricanes, blizzards), verify anchors remain secure.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will extend the lifespan and ensure the continued performance of your carport.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the roof and frame with mild soap and water to remove dirt, debris, and environmental buildup. Avoid abrasive cleaners or tools that could scratch the metal.
  • Inspection: Annually, or after severe weather, inspect all bolts, nuts, and connections for tightness. Tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Rust Prevention: While made of galvanized steel, inspect for any scratches or chips in the coating that could lead to rust. Touch up with rust-inhibiting paint if necessary.
  • Drainage: Ensure the area around the carport has proper drainage to prevent water pooling around the base.

7. Troubleshooting
