1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your JOYING JY-UZD80N8 Double Din Car Stereo. This device features an 8-inch touch screen, Android 12 operating system, 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM, Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS navigation, and supports Mirror-Link and Steering Wheel Control (SWC).

Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper operation and to prevent damage.

2. Safety Information

• Always ensure the vehicle is parked safely before operating the car stereo's advanced features.
• Do not attempt to install or service the unit yourself if you are not qualified. Improper installation can lead to electrical shock or damage to the vehicle.
• Keep the volume at a level that allows you to hear outside traffic and emergency vehicles.
• Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or excessive moisture.
• Use only accessories and parts specified by JOYING.

4. Installation

Installation of this car stereo may require specific tools and knowledge of car audio systems. It is recommended to seek professional installation to ensure correct wiring and functionality.

• An installation frame kit with an inner size of 178 x 102mm may be required, depending on your car's dashboard.
• A special ISO harness, amplifier adapter, or CANbus decoder might be necessary based on your vehicle's configuration.
• The unit does not support factory car GPS antennas, backup cameras, Bluetooth, USB, or microphones. Only JOYING accessories are supported for optimal compatibility.

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Boot-up

Upon inserting the car key, the stereo will start up and enter the user interface within 2 seconds. The very first boot-up may take approximately 30-40 seconds.

5.2 4G SIM Card Insertion

The unit features a built-in 4G module. To access the internet, insert a compatible SIM card. Note that the 4G module supports internet access only and cannot be used for phone calls or sending SMS messages.

Supported 4G LTE bands include: FDD-LTE: B2/B4/B5/B7/B12/B13/B14/B17/B25/B26/B38/B66/B71; TDD-LTE: B41.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 User Interface (UI)

The car stereo features a deep-optimized user interface based on Android 12, designed for intuitive use while driving.

• Day & Night Mode: The display automatically adjusts brightness for optimal visibility during day and night driving conditions.
• New Gesture Control: Control the screen with simple two-finger gestures (slide up, slide down, slide left, slide right) for convenient operation.
• Floating Shortcut Key: Access frequently used functions quickly via a customizable floating shortcut key on the left side of the screen.

6.2 Car-smartphone Connectivity (Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto)

Connect your mobile phone via USB cable or Bluetooth to utilize Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto. This allows you to access your phone's applications, navigation, make calls, and listen to music directly from the car stereo's larger screen. The unit has built-in Android Auto and CarPlay modules, requiring no additional devices.

6.3 GPS Navigation

The stereo includes precise GPS engines and an antenna for accurate positioning and faster real-time navigation. You can download Google offline map data for specific areas and use it without an internet connection. Mobile phone map data can also be synchronized via CarPlay/Android Auto.

6.4 Audio Features (Built-in DSP, Optical/Coaxial Digital Output)

The unit features a built-in Digital Signal Processor (DSP) with a 48-band EQ and 20 preset sound effects. This allows for precise audio customization, including independent adjustment of the subwoofer, mid-bass, mid-sound, mid-treble, and super-treble.

For enhanced sound quality, the stereo provides Optical Fiber and Coaxial Digital Outputs. If your external amplifier supports these inputs, you can achieve superior audio performance.

• EQ Setting: Adjust various frequency bands to tailor the sound output.
• DTS Scenes: Equipped with DTS5.1 panoramic surround sound effects and sound field correction for an immersive audio experience.
• High-precision Sound Processing: The DSP module performs high-precision digital processing for effects like reverberation, delay, distortion, and filtering.

6.5 HDMI Output

The HDMI output provides a full digital image and sound-sending interface, allowing uncompressed audio and video signals to be output synchronously without manual adjustment. This is ideal for connecting external displays, such as headrest monitors for passengers.

Note: Due to the chassis design, an HDMI cable with a straight head is not supported. An L-shaped or angled HDMI cable is required. HDMI cable is not included.

6.6 AR Camera Support

During driving, you can freely switch between the front and rear cameras to observe the surrounding environment. For optimal performance, it is recommended to purchase JOYING's AR camera, which is optimized for compatibility, clearer display, and more stable images during recording.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning the Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the touch screen. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• General Cleaning: Keep the unit free from dust and debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean vents and ports.
• Software Updates: Periodically check for software updates from JOYING to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
