Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the coffee machine from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or disposal.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean all removable parts (glass carafe, filter basket, permanent filter) with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. First Brew Cycle (without coffee):
    • Fill the water tank with cold water up to the 'MAX' mark (0.6L).
    • Place the empty filter basket and permanent filter into their designated positions.
    • Place the empty glass carafe on the hot plate.
    • Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet.
    • Press the On/Off switch. The indicator light will illuminate.
    • Allow the machine to complete a full brewing cycle with only water.
    • Discard the water and repeat this process 2-3 times to thoroughly clean the internal components and remove any manufacturing residues.
  4. Placement: Place the coffee machine on a dry, stable, and heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter and out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew fresh coffee:

  1. Fill Water Tank: Open the lid of the water tank. Fill the glass carafe with the desired amount of cold water (refer to the water level indicator on the carafe and the tank, marked for 2-5 cups). Pour the water from the carafe into the water tank. Do not exceed the 'MAX' fill line.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the permanent filter (or a paper filter, if preferred) into the filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one scoop (provided) per cup, but adjust to your taste. Close the lid securely.
  3. Position Carafe: Ensure the empty glass carafe is correctly placed on the hot plate. The anti-drip mechanism will prevent coffee from dripping when the carafe is removed during brewing.
  4. Start Brewing: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. Press the illuminated On/Off switch. The indicator light will turn on, signaling that the brewing process has started.
  5. Brewing Process: Water will heat up and drip through the coffee grounds into the carafe. The brewing process will complete automatically.
  6. Serve Coffee: Once brewing is complete, the hot plate will keep the coffee warm. You can remove the carafe to pour coffee. The anti-drip function will temporarily stop the flow of coffee. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
  7. Automatic Shut-off: For safety and energy saving, the coffee machine will automatically shut off approximately 40 minutes after the brewing cycle is complete.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee machine.

Daily Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Remove the glass carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter. Wash these parts in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry. These parts are generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.

Descaling:

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee machine over time, affecting performance and taste. Descale your machine regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-4 weeks).

  1. Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
  2. Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
  3. Place the empty carafe on the hot plate.
  4. Run a brewing cycle with the descaling solution.
  5. After the cycle, turn off the machine and let the solution sit in the carafe for about 15 minutes.
  6. Discard the solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly.
  7. Run at least two full brewing cycles with clean cold water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
