Components:

  • Water Reservoir: Non-removable, with 6-16oz marks for easy filling.
  • Brew Head: Area where the chosen accessory (K-Cup holder, ground coffee filter, or tea infuser) is placed.
  • Control Panel: Features buttons for Hot Brew, Bold, Over Ice Coffee, and Over Ice Tea.
  • Drip Tray: Removable for cleaning and to accommodate taller mugs. Includes two height options.
  • K-Cup Holder: For single-serve coffee pods.
  • Ground Coffee Filter: For use with medium to coarse ground coffee.
  • Tea Infuser: For loose leaf tea.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the appliance for any damage.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash all removable parts (K-Cup holder, ground coffee filter, tea infuser, drip tray) in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  3. First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line with fresh water. Place an empty mug on the drip tray. Close the brew head. Press any brew button to run a cycle without any coffee or tea. Discard the hot water. Repeat this process 2-3 times to ensure the internal components are clean.
  4. Placement: Place the brewer on a stable, level surface. Ensure it is near an electrical outlet and away from heat sources or water.

Operating Instructions

The Tastyle Coffee and Tea Maker is designed for simplicity. The primary factor determining your beverage type is the brewing accessory you use, not the specific brew button pressed. All brew buttons initiate a hot water cycle of approximately 3 minutes, followed by a 45-second drip time. For iced beverages, ice must be added to your mug before brewing.

General Brewing Steps:

  1. Prepare Your Mug: Place your mug on the drip tray. If brewing an iced beverage, fill your mug with ice. The machine accommodates travel mugs up to 7.3 inches tall by removing the drip tray.
  2. Add Water: Open the water reservoir lid and fill with fresh water to your desired level (6-16oz marks are visible). The machine will brew all water added.
  3. Insert Brew Accessory: Open the brew head. Insert the appropriate accessory for your desired beverage:
    • For K-Cups: Place a K-Cup into the K-Cup holder. Ensure it is seated correctly.
    • For Ground Coffee: Fill the ground coffee filter with medium to coarse ground coffee. Do not overfill. Place the filled filter into the brew head.
    • For Loose Leaf Tea: Fill the tea infuser with loose leaf tea. Do not overfill. Place the filled infuser into the brew head.
  4. Close Brew Head: Securely close the brew head lid.
  5. Select Brew Button: Press any of the four brew buttons (Hot Brew, Bold, Over Ice Coffee, Over Ice Tea). The machine will begin brewing.
  6. Enjoy: Once brewing is complete and dripping stops, carefully remove your mug and enjoy your beverage.

Note: The function of the brew buttons primarily relates to the type of beverage you intend to make, but the actual brewing process (hot water dispensing) remains consistent across all selections. The strength and temperature of your final drink are determined by your choice of coffee/tea, the amount used, and whether you add ice to your mug.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Tastyle Coffee and Tea Maker.

  • Daily Cleaning: After each use, remove and rinse the K-Cup holder, ground coffee filter, tea infuser, and drip tray. Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  • Built-in Cleaning Function: The machine features a built-in cleaning function. To use, fill the water reservoir with fresh water, place an empty mug, and press any brew button without any coffee or tea in the brew head. This helps flush out internal components.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits can build up. Descale your machine every 3-6 months, or more frequently if you have hard water. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for coffee makers, following the product's instructions. Alternatively, you can use a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio). Run several brew cycles with the descaling solution, then several cycles with fresh water to rinse thoroughly.
  • Storage: When not in use for an extended period, ensure the machine is clean and dry. Store it in a cool, dry place.
