1. Introduction

The LEMOKEY P1 Pro is a 75% layout QMK custom mechanical keyboard designed for versatile use across various operating systems. It features a full aluminum body, RGB backlighting, hot-swappable switches, and multiple connectivity options including 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and wired USB-C.

3. Setup

3.1. Connectivity Modes

The P1 Pro supports three connection modes: Wired (USB-C), 2.4 GHz Wireless, and Bluetooth. Use the switch located on the back edge of the keyboard to select your desired mode.

3.1.1. Wired Mode

  • Connect the keyboard to your device using the provided Type-A to Type-C cable.
  • Ensure the mode switch is set to 'USB'.

3.1.2. 2.4 GHz Wireless Mode

  • Plug the 2.4 GHz receiver into a USB-A port on your device. For optimal signal, use the extension adapter.
  • Set the mode switch on the keyboard to 'G'.
  • The keyboard should automatically connect.

3.1.3. Bluetooth Mode

  • Set the mode switch on the keyboard to 'BT'.
  • On your device, search for Bluetooth devices and select 'LEMOKEY P1 Pro' to pair.
  • The keyboard can connect to up to 3 Bluetooth devices. Switch between paired devices using the appropriate key combination (refer to the keyboard's quick start guide for specific keybinds).

3.2. Charging

The keyboard is equipped with a 4000 mAh Lithium Ion battery. To charge, connect the keyboard via the USB-C cable to a power source. The RGB backlighting will indicate charging status (e.g., pulsing for charging, solid for full).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Key Remapping and Macros (QMK/VIA)

The P1 Pro is a QMK-compatible keyboard, allowing for extensive customization of key functions, macros, and shortcuts. Use the Lemokey web app (compatible with the latest Chrome, Opera, or Edge browser) to remap keys and customize settings. Ensure the keyboard is connected via wired mode when using the web app.

4.2. Programmable Knob

The knob located at the top right of the keyboard is programmable. By default, it controls media volume (turn to adjust) and mute/unmute (press to toggle).

4.3. RGB Backlighting

The keyboard features full RGB backlighting. Various lighting effects and colors can be customized through the QMK/VIA software. Refer to the software interface for available options and controls.

4.4. Hot-Swappable Switches

The P1 Pro is equipped with hot-swappable sockets, allowing you to change mechanical switches without soldering. It supports most 3-pin or 5-pin MX-style mechanical switches.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning

  • To clean the keycaps, gently remove them using the provided keycap puller. Wipe the keycaps with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the switches.
  • Wipe the aluminum body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

5.2. Keycap and Switch Replacement

  • Use the keycap puller to remove existing keycaps.
  • Use the switch puller to carefully remove switches. Grip the switch firmly and pull straight up.
  • To install new switches, align the pins with the holes on the PCB and press down gently until the switch clicks into place. Ensure pins are not bent.
  • Place new keycaps onto the switches, pressing down firmly.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Keyboard Not Responding

  • Wired Mode: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer, and the mode switch is set to 'USB'. Try a different USB port or cable.
  • 2.4 GHz Wireless Mode: Ensure the 2.4 GHz receiver is properly plugged in and the mode switch is set to 'G'. Check if the keyboard battery is charged.
  • Bluetooth Mode: Ensure the mode switch is set to 'BT'. Re-pair the keyboard with your device. Check if the keyboard battery is charged.

6.2. Keys Not Registering

  • Ensure the switches are fully seated in their sockets. Gently press down on any loose switches.
  • If a specific key is not working, try swapping its switch with a working one to determine if the issue is with the switch or the PCB.

6.3. RGB Backlighting Issues

  • Ensure the keyboard battery is sufficiently charged.
  • Check QMK/VIA software settings for lighting effects and brightness levels.
