  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the glass carafe, lid, reusable coffee filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a damp cloth.
  3. First Use Cycle: To clean the internal components, fill the water reservoir to the MAX level with fresh water. Place the empty filter basket with the reusable filter (or a paper filter) into position. Do not add coffee grounds. Place the empty carafe on the heating plate. Run a full brewing cycle. Discard the water and repeat this process once more.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Brewing Coffee

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired level indicated on the side. Do not exceed the MAX line.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter (or a #4 paper filter) into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup (5 oz).
  3. Position Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is correctly placed on the heating plate.
  4. Select Aroma Intensity: Use the aroma intensity button (often labeled with a coffee bean icon) to choose between "Light" or "Intense" brew strength. The selected setting will be indicated on the display.
  5. Start Brewing: Press the ON/OFF button to begin the brewing cycle. The machine will start heating water and dispensing coffee into the carafe.
  6. Keep Warm Function: After brewing, the machine will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" function, maintaining the coffee's temperature for up to 60 minutes. The heating plate will turn off automatically after this period.

5.2. Setting the Auto-Start Feature

The auto-start feature allows you to program the machine to begin brewing at a specific time.

  1. Prepare the Machine: Follow steps 1-3 from "5.1. Brewing Coffee" (fill water, add grounds, position carafe).
  2. Set Current Time: Refer to the full instruction manual for specific button combinations to set the current time on the LED display. This typically involves holding a button and using the lever.
  3. Set Auto-Start Time: Press the "Auto Start" button (often indicated by a clock icon). Use the control knob or designated buttons to set your desired brewing time. Confirm the time.
  4. Activate Auto-Start: Ensure the auto-start function is activated. A small indicator light or icon on the display will confirm it is set. The machine will now brew coffee at the programmed time.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your coffee machine and ensure optimal coffee flavor.

6.1. Daily Cleaning

6.2. Descaling

Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale your machine regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 1-3 months).

  1. Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
  2. Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir.
  3. Place the empty carafe on the heating plate.
  4. Run a brewing cycle without coffee grounds.
  5. After the cycle, discard the solution.
  6. Rinse the machine by running 2-3 full cycles with fresh water to remove any residual descaling solution.
