1. Introduction

The CARPURIDE W901 Plus is a 9-inch portable car stereo system designed to enhance your driving experience with advanced connectivity and entertainment features. It offers seamless integration with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, providing access to navigation, communication, and media directly on its vibrant HD touchscreen. With an integrated Android 12.0 system, it supports online and offline GPS navigation, Google Play app downloads, and various audio output modes.

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your CARPURIDE W901 Plus to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

2. Product Overview

The CARPURIDE W901 Plus features a 9-inch anti-glare full-touch HD capacitive monitor with a 1024x600 resolution. It is powered by a 12-24V cigarette lighter connection, making it compatible with most cars and trucks. The device includes a built-in GPS hardware module and runs on Android 12.0 with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage.

3. Setup

3.1. Unboxing and Components

Before installation, ensure all components are present in the packaging:

• 1x CARPURIDE W901 Plus Car Stereo Unit
• 1x Car Charger (DC 12-24V, 3A)
• 1x 3.5mm Audio Cable (AUX)
• 1x Suction Mount Bracket
• 1x Self-adhesive Bracket

3.2. Mounting Options

The W901 Plus offers flexible mounting solutions to suit your vehicle's interior:

1. Suction Mount Bracket: Ideal for windshield or dashboard mounting. Secure the suction cup to a clean, smooth surface. Adjust the arm and base for optimal viewing angle.
2. Self-adhesive Bracket: Provides a more permanent fixture on a flat dashboard surface. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying the adhesive.

3.3. Power Connection

Connect the device to your car's power source using the provided car charger:

1. Connect the DC 2.5A cable from the car charger to the power input port on the W901 Plus unit.
2. Plug the other end of the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter port.

For a more permanent installation, a hardwired power supply option is available (sold separately) to connect directly to your car battery.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Initial Power On and Interface

Once powered, the device will automatically turn on. The main interface displays various applications and settings. A short press of the power button will wake the screen from sleep mode, while a long press will bring up restart and airplane mode options.

4.2. Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

The W901 Plus supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.

4.2.1. Connecting to Apple CarPlay:

1. On the W901 Plus, click the CarPlay icon on the home page.
2. On your iPhone, ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled and not occupied.
3. Search for the Bluetooth device "Carpuride-xxx" on your iPhone and pair. The authentication code will automatically match.
4. After successful Bluetooth connection, Wi-Fi will also connect automatically.

4.2.2. Connecting to Android Auto:

1. On the W901 Plus, click the Android Auto icon on the home page.
2. On your Android phone, ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled and not occupied.
3. Search for the Bluetooth device "Carpuride-xxx" on your Android phone and pair. The authentication code will automatically match.
4. After successful Bluetooth connection, Wi-Fi will also connect automatically.

4.3. GPS Navigation

The W901 Plus offers both online and offline GPS navigation capabilities.

4.3.1. Online Navigation (via Wi-Fi Hotspot):

1. Connect the W901 Plus to a Wi-Fi hotspot (e.g., from your smartphone).
2. Access navigation directly through the Google Maps app on the device.

4.3.2. Offline Navigation:

The built-in GPS hardware module allows for offline navigation if you have downloaded offline maps. You can download maps directly from Google Maps when connected to Wi-Fi.

4.4. Google Play & App Downloads

With its integrated Android 12.0 system and 2+32GB memory, the W901 Plus allows you to download your favorite apps from Google Play. Connect to Wi-Fi or a hotspot to access the Google Mall (Play Store) and install apps like YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Music, etc. You can also install apps offline via a TF card.

4.5. Mirror Link

The device supports Phone Mirror-Link for both Android and iOS phones, allowing you to display your phone's screen on the W901 Plus.

4.5.1. iPhone Mirror Link:

1. Open WLAN in your iPhone settings and find "carletter-xxx".
2. Connect your iPhone to "carletter-xxx" successfully and enter the PIN code: 12345678.
3. Open the iPhone mirroring function and connect to "Carpuride-xxx".

4.5.2. Android Mirror Link:

1. Connect the Android phone to Carpuride-xx via Bluetooth.
2. Set the hotspot name and password for the Android phone (e.g., hotspot name "car", password "12345678").
3. Open the Wi-Fi settings in the mirror settings. Search for the hotspot name "car" corresponding to the Android phone and connect successfully.
4. On the Android phone, click Step3-Start to begin recording or casting with the Carletter CastStart function.
5. To stop mirroring, press the stop button on the Carletter Cast App.

4.6. Voice Control (Siri & Google Assistant)

Utilize the built-in clear microphone technology to send voice commands to Siri or Google Assistant. This allows for hands-free operation of features like playing music, making phone calls, and navigating, enhancing driving safety. An external 3.5mm mic can also be connected for improved audio quality.

4.7. Multiple Sound Modes

The W901 Plus offers various ways to output audio to your car's speakers or its built-in speaker:

• Bluetooth Audio: Connect your phone to the car's Bluetooth system for seamless audio playback and hands-free calls.
• Built-in Speaker: Use the device's internal speaker for audio output.
• TF Card/USB: Play audio files directly from a TF card or USB drive.
• AUX Cable: Connect via the provided 3.5mm AUX cable to your car's AUX input for wired audio playback.
• FM Transmission: Transmit audio to your car's FM radio by tuning both devices to the same FM frequency.

4.8. Reversing Assist

The device supports an optional reversing camera (sold separately) to provide a clear view of your vehicle's rear, complete with reversing reference lines and a wide 170% viewing angle. This enhances safety when parking or backing up.

4.9. Screen Features

The 9-inch HD IPS 2.5D curved touchscreen is designed for optimal viewing. Its anti-glare properties ensure clear visibility even in bright sunlight or when wearing polarized glasses. The screen automatically adjusts brightness based on ambient lighting conditions to maintain readability and reduce eye strain.

• Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the surface.
• Temperature: Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for prolonged periods, as this can affect performance and lifespan.
• Cable Management: Ensure all cables are neatly routed and secured to prevent damage or interference with driving.
• Software Updates: Periodically check for software updates via Wi-Fi to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features.
