2. Safety Instructions

Always observe the following safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:

• Read all instructions before using the appliance.
• Do not operate the robot in areas with open flames or explosive materials.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging Base Placement

1. Choose a location for the charging base against a wall, on a hard, level surface.
2. Ensure there is at least 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) of clear space on either side of the charging base and 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) in front of it.
3. Plug the charging adapter into the charging base and then into a power outlet.

4.2 Initial Charge

1. Place the RCV 2 onto the charging base, ensuring the charging contacts align.
2. The robot will begin charging. Allow for a full charge before first use (approximately 4-5 hours). The indicator light on the robot will change to indicate a full charge.

4.3 Side Brush Installation

Gently press the side brushes onto their respective posts on the underside of the robot until they click into place.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

• To power on, press and hold the power button on the robot until the indicator lights illuminate.
• To power off, press and hold the power button until the indicator lights turn off.

5.2 Cleaning Modes

The RCV 2 offers multiple cleaning modes:

• Vacuuming: For dry cleaning of dust, dirt, and pet hair on various floor types, including carpets.
• Mopping: For wet cleaning of hard floors. Fill the water reservoir and attach the microfiber mop pad.
• Combined Cleaning (Vacuum & Mop): The robot vacuums and mops simultaneously. Ensure the 2-in-1 reservoir is correctly installed with water and a mop pad.

5.3 Using the Remote Control

The remote control allows for direct operation and setting adjustments:

• Start/Pause: Press the play/pause button to start or pause cleaning.
• Directional Control: Use arrow buttons to manually steer the robot.
• Return to Base: Press the home button to send the robot back to its charging base.

5.4 Gyro Navigation

5.6 Automatic Return to Base

6.1 Emptying the Dust Bin

6.2 Cleaning/Refilling the Water Tank

1. Remove the 2-in-1 reservoir.
2. Open the water tank cap and fill with clean water. Do not use detergents or cleaning solutions not approved by Kärcher.
3. After mopping, empty any remaining water and rinse the tank.

6.3 Cleaning Brushes and Filter

• Main Brush: Remove the main brush cover and lift out the brush. Use the provided cleaning tool to remove hair and debris.
• Side Brushes: Pull the side brushes off their posts. Remove any tangled hair or debris.
• Filter: Tap the filter gently to remove dust. Rinse with water if necessary, but ensure it is completely dry before re-inserting. Replace the filter every 3-6 months depending on usage.
