2. Safety Information
- Maximum Load: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 3 kg (6.6 lbs). Overloading can affect motorcycle stability and handling.
- Speed Limit: Always adhere to the speed limits recommended by your motorcycle manufacturer and local traffic laws. Excessive speed with luggage can compromise stability.
- Weight Distribution: Distribute the weight evenly inside the top case. Place heavier items at the bottom and center to maintain balance.
- Secure Closure: Always ensure the top case is securely closed and locked before riding.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check the mounting screws and attachment system for tightness, especially after long rides or rough terrain.
- Motorcycle Handling: Be aware that adding a top case can alter your motorcycle's center of gravity and handling characteristics. Practice riding with the loaded top case in a safe environment.

Verify that all components are present in the package:
- GIVI E455NT Monolock Top Case (45 Liters)
- Universal Monolock Plate
- Mounting Hardware Kit (screws, washers, brackets)

4. Setup and Installation
The GIVI E455NT top case utilizes the Monolock system, which requires a universal plate to be mounted on your motorcycle's existing rear rack. If your motorcycle does not have a rear rack, a specific GIVI fitting kit may be required (sold separately).
4.1 Mounting the Universal Plate
- Prepare the Rack: Ensure your motorcycle's rear rack is clean and free from obstructions.
- Position the Plate: Place the universal Monolock plate on the rear rack. Adjust its position to ensure it is centered and does not interfere with the passenger seat or other motorcycle components.
- Attach Brackets: Use the provided brackets and screws to secure the universal plate to the motorcycle rack. Depending on your rack design, you may need to use different combinations of brackets and spacers. Ensure all screws are tightened firmly but do not overtighten.
- Verify Stability: Once mounted, gently shake the plate to ensure it is securely attached and does not wobble.

- Press Down: Gently press the top case down until it clicks into place. You should hear an audible click, indicating that the rear locking mechanism has engaged.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the top case with a soft cloth, mild soap, and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the polycarbonate material and smoked reflectors.
- Lubrication: Periodically lubricate the lock mechanism with a silicone-based spray to ensure smooth operation.
- Storage: When not in use, store the top case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent material degradation.
- Reflectors: Keep the smoked reflectors clean to maintain their visibility.
7. Troubleshooting

- Case not locking: Ensure the lid is fully closed and aligned. The key should turn smoothly. Do not force the key.
- Case loose on plate: Verify that the universal plate is securely mounted to the motorcycle rack. Check that the top case is fully engaged with the Monolock mechanism (listen for the click).
- Water ingress: Check the rubber seal around the lid for damage or debris. Ensure the lid is properly closed and latched.
