Setup Guide

1. Mounting the Webcam

  1. On a Monitor/Laptop Screen:
    • Open the flexible clip/mount at the bottom of the webcam.
    • Place the webcam on top of your monitor or laptop screen, ensuring the front lip rests securely on the screen and the adjustable clip supports the back.
    • Adjust the angle of the webcam to your desired position.
  2. On a Tripod:
    • The webcam's mount includes a standard 1/4-inch tripod thread.
    • Screw the webcam onto a compatible tripod (not included) for more flexible placement options.

2. Connecting to Your Computer

  1. Connect the USB-C end of the provided cable to the USB-C port on the back of the webcam.
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to an available USB-A port on your computer.
  3. The webcam is plug-and-play and does not require additional driver installation for most operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  4. Allow a few moments for your computer to recognize the device.

3. Initial Software Configuration

  • Open your preferred video conferencing application (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet) or camera application (e.g., Windows Camera app, Photo Booth on macOS).
  • In the application's settings, select "TOALLIN TL828A" as your video input device.
  • Select "TOALLIN TL828A" as your microphone input device.
  • Adjust video resolution and other settings as needed within your application. For 4K resolution, ensure your application and computer support it.

Operating Instructions

1. Manual Privacy Cover

To ensure privacy, slide the physical privacy cover over the lens when the webcam is not in use. Slide it back to expose the lens when you need to use the camera.

2. AI Tracking with Auto-Framing

The AI Auto-Framing feature automatically adjusts the camera's view to keep you or multiple participants centered in the frame. This feature is particularly useful for dynamic presentations or group discussions.

  • Activation: The Auto-Framing function is turned off by default. To activate it, ensure your PC is set to 1080p mode, then touch the "Auto Framing" button located on top of the webcam. The indicator light will turn blue.
  • Functionality: The camera will intelligently track and zoom to adjust participants into the frame, keeping them centered.

3. Auto-Focus

The webcam features fast and accurate auto-focus, automatically adjusting to keep you in sharp focus, even if you move closer or further from the camera. This helps in presenting yourself clearly or showcasing products.

4. Digital Zoom

The webcam supports up to 5X digital zoom, allowing you to get a closer view of your subject.

  • Activation: This function only works under 1080p mode and when AI Auto-Framing is off. Touch the "Digital Zoom" button on top of the camera up to 5 times to zoom in. Touch it one more time to zoom out completely.

5. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR)

WDR technology helps balance lighting in challenging environments, such as backlighting, to ensure a clear and well-exposed image. This feature is automatically managed by the webcam.

6. Dual Noise-Canceling Microphones

7. Wide Angle View (92° FOV)

The 92° field of view (FOV) ensures that everyone can be visible in a meeting room without distortion, making it suitable for various meeting setups.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for camera lenses to gently wipe the lens. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • General Cleaning: Wipe the body of the webcam with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the webcam in a dry, dust-free environment. Use the privacy cover to protect the lens.
  • Avoid Moisture: The webcam is not water-resistant. Keep it away from liquids and high humidity.
