3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Tristar IK-6162 induction cooktop:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the cooktop from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for potential future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the cooktop on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for ventilation. Do not place it near heat sources or flammable materials.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 230 Volt, grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet can support the maximum power draw of 3500 Watts.
  4. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the glass surface with a soft, damp cloth.

Compatible Cookware:

Induction cooktops require cookware with a magnetic base. To check if your cookware is compatible, hold a magnet to the bottom of the pot or pan. If the magnet sticks, the cookware is suitable for induction cooking.

  1. Power On: Place suitable cookware with food on the desired cooking zone. Press the power button () for the respective zone. The display will show "ON".
  2. Adjusting Power Levels: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to select one of the 10 power levels. The left zone can reach up to 2000W, and the right zone up to 1500W.

    Press the timer button (often indicated by a clock icon) to activate the timer. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set the desired cooking time, up to 180 minutes. The cooktop will automatically shut off when the timer expires.

  4. Child Safety Lock: To activate the child lock, press and hold the lock icon button (often indicated by a padlock) for a few seconds. The controls will be locked. Repeat the action to unlock.
  5. Power Off: Press the power button () for the respective zone to turn it off. To turn off the entire unit, press the main power button if available, or turn off both zones individually.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Tristar IK-6162, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
