Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner. Always unplug the appliance before performing any maintenance.

The dust bag should be replaced when the dust bag indicator (if present) shows full, or when suction power noticeably decreases. The capacity of the dust bag is 3 liters.

  1. Open the dust bag compartment cover.
  2. Carefully remove the full dust bag from its holder. Dispose of the bag according to local waste regulations.
  3. Insert a new AEG compatible dust bag into the holder, ensuring it is correctly seated and sealed.
  4. Close the dust bag compartment cover until it clicks shut.

5.2 Filter Maintenance

The AEG AB31C1GG is equipped with a HEPA filter, which should be cleaned or replaced periodically to maintain filtration efficiency and suction power.

  1. Locate the HEPA filter compartment, typically near the exhaust vent or within the dust bag compartment.
  2. Remove the HEPA filter. Depending on the filter type, it may be washable or require replacement.
  3. If washable, rinse under cold running water and allow it to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting. Do not use detergents or heat to dry.
  4. If non-washable, replace with a new AEG compatible HEPA filter.
  5. Reinsert the clean or new filter and close the compartment cover.
