1. Product Overview

The ZAQE M4 MP3 Player is a portable digital audio player featuring a 2.4-inch full touch screen, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and 64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128GB. It supports lossless sound playback and includes a built-in HD speaker, FM radio, voice recorder, and e-book functionality. Designed for ease of use, it comes with a protective case and wired earphones.

3. Device Layout and Controls

Familiarize yourself with the physical components and controls of your MP3 player.

  • Volume + / Volume -: Adjusts audio output volume.
  • Power ON/OFF: Press and hold to power on or off. Short press to turn screen on/off.
  • Type-C Port: For charging and data transfer.
  • Reset: Small pinhole for device reset (use a thin pin).
  • 3.5mm Headphone Jack: Connect wired headphones.
  • TF Card Slot: Insert a Micro SD card for expanded storage.

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the MP3 player. Connect the provided Type-C cable to the device's Type-C port and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator will show progress.

4.2 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power ON/OFF button until the screen illuminates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power ON/OFF button until a power-off prompt appears on the screen. Select "Power Off".
  • Screen On/Off: A short press of the Power ON/OFF button will turn the screen on or off without powering down the device.

4.3 Inserting a Micro SD Card

The device supports Micro SD card expansion up to 128GB. Locate the TF Card Slot on the bottom of the device. Gently insert the Micro SD card with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place. To remove, push the card in slightly until it springs out.

4.4 Transferring Files

To transfer music, videos, or other files to the MP3 player:

  1. Connect the MP3 player to your computer using the provided Type-C cable.
  2. The device should appear as a removable disk drive on your computer.
  3. Open the device's storage or the inserted Micro SD card.
  4. Drag and drop your desired files (e.g., MP3, AMV, AVI) into the appropriate folders on the device.
  5. Once transfer is complete, safely eject the device from your computer before disconnecting the cable.

Note: If the device does not connect as a disk drive, try a different Type-C cable or a different USB port on your computer. Ensure your computer's drivers are up to date.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Navigation

The ZAQE M4 features a full touch screen for navigation. Tap icons to open applications, swipe to scroll, and use the back arrow icon (usually in the top left corner) to return to the previous screen or the home screen.

5.2 Music Playback

  1. Tap the "Music" icon on the home screen.
  2. Browse your music by Artist, Album, Songs, or Playlists.
  3. Tap a song to begin playback.
  4. Use the on-screen controls for play/pause, skip forward/backward, and repeat/shuffle modes.

5.3 Bluetooth Connectivity

Connect your MP3 player to Bluetooth headphones or speakers for wireless audio.

  1. Tap the "Bluetooth" icon on the home screen or navigate to Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Turn Bluetooth "On".
  3. Ensure your Bluetooth device (headphones/speaker) is in pairing mode.
  4. The MP3 player will scan for available devices. Select your device from the list to pair.
  5. Once paired, audio will be routed through the connected Bluetooth device.

5.4 FM Radio

To use the FM radio, ensure wired headphones are connected as they act as the antenna.

  1. Connect wired headphones to the 3.5mm jack.
  2. Tap the "Radio" icon.
  3. Use the on-screen controls to scan for stations or manually tune.

5.5 Voice Recorder

The device includes a built-in microphone for voice recording.

  1. Tap the "Record" icon.
  2. Tap the record button to start and stop recording.
  3. Recordings are saved to the device's internal storage or Micro SD card.

5.6 E-book Reader

View text files (e.g., .TXT) on the device.

  1. Transfer compatible e-book files to the device's storage.
  2. Tap the "EBook" icon.
  3. Select the desired file to open and read.

5.7 Video Playback

The MP3 player supports AMV and AVI video formats.

  1. Transfer compatible video files to the device's storage.
  2. Tap the "Movie" icon.
  3. Select the video file to begin playback.

5.8 Built-in Speaker

The device features a built-in speaker, allowing audio playback without headphones. To switch between speaker and headphone output, disconnect or connect headphones. The device will automatically switch output modes.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Gently wipe the screen and body of the device with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the screen or finish.

6.2 Storage

Store the MP3 player in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. Use the provided protective case to prevent scratches and minor impacts.

6.3 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods (e.g., once every 3 months).

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Device Does Not Power On

  • Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on.
  • Press and hold the Power ON/OFF button for 5-10 seconds.
  • If unresponsive, locate the Reset pinhole (refer to Figure 3.1) and gently press it with a thin pin (e.g., a paperclip) to perform a hard reset.

7.2 Cannot Connect to Computer / File Transfer Issues

  • Ensure the Type-C cable is securely connected to both the MP3 player and the computer.
  • Try using a different Type-C cable. Some cables are for charging only and do not support data transfer.
  • Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer.
  • Restart both the MP3 player and your computer.
  • Verify that your computer's operating system recognizes new USB devices. Check Device Manager (Windows) or System Information (macOS) for the connected device.

7.3 Touch Screen Unresponsive or Inaccurate

  • Ensure the screen is clean and free of dirt or moisture.
  • Perform a soft reset by powering the device off and then on again.
  • If the issue persists, perform a hard reset using the Reset pinhole.

7.4 Audio Quality Issues / No Sound

  • Check the volume level on the device.
  • Ensure headphones are properly plugged into the 3.5mm jack, or that Bluetooth headphones/speakers are correctly paired and connected.
  • Test with different headphones or speakers to rule out accessory issues.
  • If using the built-in speaker, ensure headphones are disconnected.

7.5 Limited Playlist Functionality

The device's playlist creation and management may be limited to on-device operations. For more advanced playlist management, consider organizing your music into folders on your computer before transferring them to the device, and then navigate by folder on the player.
