2. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your Tapo C201 camera.

  1. Download the Tapo App: Search for 'Tapo' in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or scan the QR code provided in the Quick Start Guide. Install the app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Create a Tapo Account: Open the Tapo app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Tapo ID. If you already have a Tapo account, log in.
  3. Power On the Camera: Connect the provided power adapter to the camera and plug it into a power outlet. Wait for the LED indicator on the camera to flash red and green.
  4. Add Your Camera: In the Tapo app, tap the '+' icon in the top right corner to add a new device. Select your Tapo C201 model and follow the app's instructions to connect it to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  5. Positioning and Mounting: The camera can be placed on a flat surface or mounted to a wall or ceiling using the included camera base, mounting screws, and template. Ensure the camera is within range of your Wi-Fi network.

Pan and Tilt Control

The camera can detect motion, identify people, and recognize baby crying sounds. When an event is detected, you will receive instant push notifications on your smartphone. You can customize activity zones within the app to focus detection on specific areas and reduce unwanted alerts.

Two-Way Audio

Privacy Mode
