3. Setup Guide

3.1 System Requirements

  • Operating System: macOS (10.15 Catalina or later) or Windows (10 64-bit or later)

  4. Input Devices: Connect microphones to the 'MIC/LINE 1' and 'MIC/LINE 2' inputs using XLR cables. Connect instruments (e.g., guitar, bass) to the HI-Z input on the front panel.

3.3 Software Installation

  1. Download UAD Software: Visit the Universal Audio website (www.uaudio.com/downloads) and download the latest UAD software for your operating system.
  2. Install Software: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the UAD software, which includes drivers, the UAD Console application, and UAD plug-ins.
  3. Register and Authorize: After installation, launch the UAD Meter & Control Panel application. Follow the prompts to register your Apollo Twin X and authorize your included UAD Essentials+ plug-in bundle. An internet connection is required for this step.

4.1 Front Panel Overview

  • Large Knob: Controls input gain, monitor output level, and headphone output level depending on the selected mode.
  • CH1/CH2 Meters: Display input levels for channels 1 and 2.
  • Monitor/Headphone Meters: Display output levels for main monitors and headphones.
  • Preamp Button: Toggles between input gain control and monitor/headphone level control for the large knob.
