Setup
1. Powering the Units
Indoor Display Unit: Can be powered by the included AC adapter or 2 x AA batteries (not included). For continuous operation and WiFi connectivity, using the AC adapter is recommended.
Outdoor Multi-Sensor Unit: Requires 3 x AAA batteries (not included). The unit also features a solar panel to extend battery life.

2. Outdoor Sensor Installation
The outdoor sensor transmits data wirelessly to the indoor display unit. The maximum transmission range is 60 meters (approximately 197 feet) in open space. Choose a location that provides accurate readings and is within range of the indoor unit.
Recommended Placement:
- Ensure the rain gauge is level and unobstructed.
- Position the anemometer and wind vane away from obstructions that could block wind flow.
- Avoid direct sunlight on the temperature sensor for accurate readings (the integrated solar panel is for power, not measurement).
Mounting Options: The outdoor sensor can be mounted on a flat surface or a pole.

3. WiFi Connection and App Setup
The weather station supports WiFi connectivity for data transmission to cloud services and remote monitoring via a smartphone application. Note: WiFi connection is only possible when the indoor unit is powered by the AC adapter.
- Download the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android).
- Register or log in to your account within the app.
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. The weather station does not support 5 GHz networks.
- Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. The app will guide you through the pairing process.
- Once connected, you can view real-time weather data and adjust settings remotely.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the indoor display unit with a soft, dry cloth. For the outdoor sensor, periodically check and clean the rain gauge funnel and wind cups to ensure accurate readings.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in the outdoor sensor (3 x AAA) and indoor unit (2 x AA, if used) when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
- Sensor Obstruction: Ensure the outdoor sensor remains free from leaves, dirt, snow, or ice that could impede its function.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No outdoor data displayed. | Low batteries in outdoor sensor; sensor out of range; interference. | Replace outdoor sensor batteries. Move sensor closer to indoor unit (max 60m). Ensure no major obstructions. |
| WiFi connection fails. | Indoor unit not powered by AC adapter; incorrect WiFi password; 5 GHz network used; app issues. | Connect indoor unit to AC adapter. Verify WiFi password. Ensure connection to a 2.4 GHz network. Restart app/device. |
| Inaccurate rain/wind readings. | Rain gauge/wind cups obstructed; sensor not level. | Clear any debris from rain gauge or wind cups. Ensure outdoor sensor is mounted level. |
| Display turns off frequently. | Indoor unit running on battery power. | This is normal behavior to save battery. Connect to AC adapter for continuous display. |
