2. Safety Information

  • Fire Safety: Keep all flame and heat sources away from this tent fabric. The tent is made of flame-resistant fabric, but it is not fireproof.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent condensation and maintain air quality inside the tent.
  • Weather Conditions: While designed with a water-resistant coating, extreme weather conditions (heavy winds, severe thunderstorms) may compromise the tent's integrity. Seek alternative shelter in such conditions.
  • Vehicle Stability: Always park your truck on a level, stable surface when the tent is in use. Engage the parking brake.
  • Sharp Objects: Avoid bringing sharp objects inside the tent that could puncture the fabric or flooring.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning assembly:

  • Truck Tent Body (190T polyester with 1500mm water-resistant coating)
  • Full Rainfly
  • Fiberglass Poles (4 total)
  • Heavy-duty, weather-resistant polyester carrying bag
  • Stakes (Steel, Aluminum, or Plastic)
  • Guy Ropes (if applicable)

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up your Guide Gear Truck Tent:

  1. Prepare Your Truck: Ensure your truck bed is clean and free of debris. Lower the tailgate.
  2. Unpack the Tent: Remove the tent and all components from the carrying bag. Lay the tent body flat in the truck bed with the D-shaped door facing the tailgate.
  3. Assemble Poles: Connect the fiberglass pole sections. The tent typically uses four poles: two main poles for the dome structure, one pole for the D-shaped door, and one for the rear window/vent.
  4. Insert Poles: Slide the assembled poles through the fabric sleeves on the tent body. Ensure the poles are fully inserted into the grommets or pockets at each corner.
  5. Raise the Tent: Carefully raise the tent structure by bending the poles into their arched shape. Secure the pole ends into their respective pins or grommets.
  6. Secure to Truck Bed: Attach the tent's straps to the truck bed's tie-down points or wheel wells. Adjust the tension to ensure a snug fit around the truck bed rails. Ensure tailgate straps are secured before tightening side straps.
  7. Install Rainfly: Drape the full rainfly over the tent body, aligning it with the tent's structure. Secure the rainfly with the attached buckles or ties. This provides additional water resistance.
  8. Stake Down (Optional): If additional stability is desired, use the provided stakes and guy ropes to secure the tent to the ground, especially in windy conditions.

  • Storage: Store the tent in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Pole Care: Inspect poles for damage before and after each use. Clean any dirt or debris from pole sections.
  • Zipper Care: Keep zippers clean and lubricated with a silicone-based spray to ensure smooth operation.
