3. Safety Information

5. Setup
5.1. Download the Tuya Smart App
- Scan the QR code on the product packaging or search for "Tuya Smart" in your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Download and install the app.
- Register a new account or log in if you already have one.
5.2. Connect the Smart Plug
- Plug the Nivian Smart Plug into a standard wall outlet.
- The indicator light on the smart plug should start blinking rapidly, indicating it is in pairing mode. If not, press and hold the power button on the plug for 5-10 seconds until it blinks rapidly.
- Open the Tuya Smart App.
- Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a device.
- Select "Electrical Outlet" or "Smart Plug" from the device list.
- Confirm that the indicator light is blinking rapidly in the app.
- Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password. (Note: The smart plug only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. If you have a dual-band router, ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz network during setup.)
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process. This may take a few moments.
- Once successfully added, you can rename the device for easier identification.
Troubleshooting Tip: If you experience difficulty pairing, try restarting your Wi-Fi router and ensure your smartphone is close to the smart plug and router during the setup process. Some users have reported that restarting the router can resolve connectivity issues.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Basic On/Off Control
From the Tuya Smart App, tap on the smart plug's icon to toggle its power state (on/off). The physical button on the smart plug also allows manual control.

8.1. Tuya Smart App Automation

9. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your smart plug:
- Clean the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Avoid placing the device in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
- Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures.
10. Troubleshooting
- Device not connecting to Wi-Fi:
Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Check that your Wi-Fi password is correct. Move the smart plug closer to your router. Try restarting your Wi-Fi router and then attempting the pairing process again. - Device not responding in app:
Check your internet connection. Verify the smart plug is powered on and its indicator light is solid (not blinking). Restart the Tuya Smart App. - Overheating:
If the smart plug feels excessively hot, immediately unplug it and the connected appliance. Ensure the connected appliance's power draw does not exceed the smart plug's maximum rating (16A). This smart plug is not designed for continuous high-current loads (e.g., above 8A for extended periods). - Voice control not working:
Confirm that the Tuya Smart skill/service is enabled and linked correctly in your Alexa or Google Home app. Ensure the device name in the Tuya app is recognized by your voice assistant.
