Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper function and safety.

2. Safety Information

  • Ensure the device is installed in a location protected from extreme weather conditions, although it has an IP66 waterproof rating.
  • Use only AA 1.5V batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
  • Keep the device out of reach of children to prevent accidental tampering.
  • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the device yourself. Contact customer support for assistance.
  • Ensure proper thread connection (3/4 inch NPT/BSP) to prevent leaks.
  • Operate within the specified working pressure range of 0.03MPa-0.9MPa.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the sprinkler timer.
  2. Open the compartment cover.
  3. Insert four (4) AA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely to maintain the waterproof seal.

4.2 Physical Installation

  1. Ensure your outdoor faucet is turned off.
  2. Thread the sprinkler timer onto your standard 3/4 inch outdoor faucet. Hand-tighten only to prevent damage.
  3. Connect your garden hose to the outlet of the sprinkler timer.
  4. Slowly turn on your outdoor faucet. Check for any leaks and tighten connections if necessary.

4.3 App Download and Zigbee Hub Connection

The ngnsky Smart Sprinkler Timer requires a Zigbee Hub (sold separately) to function with the smartphone app and voice control. Ensure your Zigbee Hub is already set up and connected to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

  1. Download the "Smart Home" app (or compatible app like Tuya Smart) from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Add your Zigbee Hub to the app if you haven't already. Follow the hub's specific instructions for pairing.
  4. Once the hub is connected, put the sprinkler timer into pairing mode (refer to the device's LED indicator for status, typically a blinking light).
  5. In the app, select "Add Device" or the "+" icon, then choose the sprinkler timer from the list of discoverable devices.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process. The device should appear in your app's device list.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 APP Remote Control

Once paired, you can control your sprinkler timer from anywhere using the Smart Home app.

  • Open the Smart Home app and select your sprinkler timer.
  • You can manually turn the water on or off, set schedules, view watering records, and monitor battery levels.

5.2 Voice Control (Alexa/Google Assistant)

Integrate your sprinkler timer with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for convenient voice commands.

  1. Ensure your Alexa or Google Assistant device is set up and linked to your Smart Home app account.
  2. Discover new devices through your voice assistant app or by voice command (e.g., "Alexa, discover devices").
  3. Once discovered, you can use commands like:
    • "Alexa, turn on the sprinkler."
    • "Hey Google, turn off the garden hose."

5.3 Manual Watering

You can initiate watering manually through the app, independent of any set schedules.

  1. Open the Smart Home app and select your sprinkler timer.
  2. Navigate to the "Manual" section.
  3. Set the desired watering duration and tap "Start" to begin manual watering.

5.4 Timed Irrigation Program Setting

Set up automated watering schedules to ensure your plants are watered consistently.

  1. In the Smart Home app, select your sprinkler timer.
  2. Go to the "Schedule" or "Timing" section.
  3. Tap "Add Timing" to create a new schedule.
  4. Set the start time, duration, and frequency (e.g., specific days of the week, odd/even days).
  5. Save the schedule. The timer will now follow this program automatically.

5.5 Group Control and Family Share

The app allows multiple family members to control the sprinkler timer, preventing duplicate watering and ensuring coordinated garden care.

  1. In the Smart Home app, navigate to the device settings for your sprinkler timer.
  2. Look for "Share Device" or "Family Management."
  3. Add family members by entering their app account details. They will receive an invitation to control the device.

5.6 Child Lock

Activate the child lock feature to prevent accidental changes to your watering schedule or manual operation.

  1. In the Smart Home app, go to the settings for your sprinkler timer.
  2. Locate the "Child Lock" option and toggle it on.
  3. This will lock the physical controls on the device and may restrict certain app functions, depending on the app version.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

The app will display the battery level. Replace batteries when they are low to ensure continuous operation.

  1. Turn off the water supply to the timer.
  2. Remove the timer from the faucet if necessary for easier access.
  3. Open the battery compartment and replace all four AA 1.5V batteries with new ones.
  4. Close the compartment securely.

6.2 Cleaning

Periodically clean the exterior of the timer with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6.3 Winterization

Before the first frost, remove the sprinkler timer from the faucet. Drain any remaining water and store it indoors in a dry, frost-free location. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
