Thank you for choosing the MOICO T5 FRS Two-Way Radios. These radios are designed for reliable communication in various environments, offering 22 FRS channels and 99 CTCSS privacy codes. This manual provides essential information for safe and efficient operation of your device.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

Each MOICO T5 radio requires 3 AAA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  2. Press down on the clip and slide the battery cover downwards to open.
  3. Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery cover and slide it upwards until it clicks into place.

4.2 Attaching the Belt Clip

To attach the belt clip, slide it into the slot on the back of the radio until it locks into place. To remove, lift the tab and slide the clip upwards.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power button (Power button icon) for 3 seconds to turn the radio on or off.

5.2 Adjusting Volume

Use the Up (Up arrow button icon) and Down (Down arrow button icon) buttons to adjust the speaker volume. The current volume level will be displayed on the LCD screen.

5.3 Channel Selection

Your radio has 22 FRS channels.

  1. Press the MENU button (Menu button icon) once. The channel number will flash.
  2. Use the Up or Down buttons to select your desired channel.
  3. Press the MENU button again or wait 5 seconds for the selection to be saved.

5.4 CTCSS/DCS Tone Selection (Privacy Codes)

CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) provides 99 privacy codes to minimize interference from other users on the same channel.

  1. Press the MENU button twice. The CTCSS code will flash.
  2. Use the Up or Down buttons to select your desired CTCSS code (01-99). Code 00 means no tone is selected.
  3. Press the MENU button again or wait 5 seconds to confirm.

5.5 Transmitting and Receiving

To transmit, press and hold the Talk/Call button (usually on the side of the radio). Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the button to receive. Ensure both radios are on the same channel and CTCSS code for communication.

5.6 VOX Function (Hands-Free Operation)

VOX allows you to transmit by speaking into the microphone without pressing the Talk button. It has 3 sensitivity levels.

  1. Press the MENU button three times. The VOX icon and sensitivity level will flash.
  2. Use the Up or Down buttons to select a sensitivity level (1-3, with 3 being most sensitive) or turn VOX off (OF).
  3. Press the MENU button again or wait 5 seconds to confirm.

5.7 Keypad Lock

To prevent accidental changes to settings, press and hold the MENU button for 3 seconds until the Keypad Lock icon (Keypad lock icon) appears on the LCD. Repeat to unlock.

5.8 Flashlight

Press the Lamp button (Flashlight button icon) to turn the built-in LED flashlight on or off. This feature is useful in low-light conditions.

5.9 Scan Function

Press the SCAN button (Scan button icon) to activate the channel scan feature. The radio will scan all 22 channels and stop on an active channel. Press the SCAN button again to stop scanning.

The actual communication range of your MOICO T5 radios can vary significantly based on environmental factors.

Factors such as terrain, weather conditions, electromagnetic interference, and battery level can affect the range.
