Assembly and Setup
The Gardtech 60L Motion Sensor Kitchen Bin requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps:
- Attach the Legs (Optional): If you wish to use the elevated feet, carefully attach the four legs to the designated slots on the bottom of the bin body. Ensure they are securely fastened.
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the sensor lid unit. Insert the required batteries (typically AA, not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
- Place the Bin Body: Position the bin body in your desired location.
- Insert Trash Bag: Place a trash bag into the bin body. Secure the bag by fitting the bag clamping ring over the top edge of the bag and then into the bin's rim. This holds the bag firmly in place and hides any excess bag material.
- Attach the Sensor Lid: Carefully place the sensor lid unit onto the bin body, ensuring it sits flush and is properly aligned.

Operating Instructions
Motion Sensor Operation
The Gardtech bin features an intelligent motion sensor for hygienic, touch-free operation:
- Automatic Opening: Simply wave your hand or approach the sensor area (located on the front of the lid) within approximately 10-15 cm. The lid will open automatically.
- Automatic Closing: After 5 seconds of inactivity (no motion detected), the lid will close silently thanks to the damping buffer mechanism.
- Manual Open/Close: For longer periods of use, you can manually open the lid by pressing the "OPEN" button on the sensor panel. Press the "CLOSE" button to shut the lid. The lid will remain open until manually closed or until the sensor is reactivated.

- Lift out the bag clamping ring with the full trash bag.
- Remove the full trash bag and dispose of it properly.
- Place a new trash bag into the bin body.
- Fit the bag clamping ring over the top edge of the new trash bag and secure it into the bin's rim.
- Replace the sensor lid unit onto the bin body.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the bin body and lid with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish. The stainless steel surface is anti-fingerprint and easy to clean.
- Interior: The interior of the bin can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Ensure it is completely dry before placing a new trash bag.
- Sensor: Gently wipe the sensor window with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids directly on the sensor. The sensor is waterproof, but direct water jets should be avoided.
- Elevated Feet: The elevated feet allow for easy cleaning underneath the bin without needing to move it.
