Introduction

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is an advanced action camera designed for capturing high-quality footage in diverse environments. It features a next-gen 1/1.3-inch sensor for superior image quality, enhanced stabilization, and extended battery life. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your Osmo Action 5 Pro.

Setup

Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Upon receiving your DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro Adventure Combo, carefully unbox all components and inspect them for any signs of damage. Ensure all items listed in the "What's in the Box" section are present.

Battery Installation and Charging

1. Insert the Osmo Action Extreme Battery Plus into the Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case 2.
2. Connect the battery case to a power source using the provided Type-C to Type-C PD Cable. The indicator lights on the case will show charging status.
3. Ensure batteries are fully charged before first use for optimal performance.

Activating Your Osmo Action 5 Pro

To ensure proper functionality and access to all features, your Osmo Action 5 Pro must be activated via the DJI Mimo App.

1. Download the DJI Mimo app by scanning the QR code displayed on the camera screen prompt or by visiting the DJI official website to download the latest version. (Note: Due to platform compatibility issues, the DJI Mimo app has been removed from Google Play.)
2. Press and hold the quick switch button to power on your Osmo Action 5 Pro.
3. Launch the DJI Mimo app on your smartphone. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your smartphone, and connect to Osmo Action 5 Pro.
4. After connecting, the DJI Mimo app will prompt you to activate the device.
5. Complete the activation by following the on-screen prompts within the app.

MicroSD Card Installation

While the Osmo Action 5 Pro includes 47 GB of internal storage, a microSD card is recommended for extended recording. Insert a compatible microSD card into the designated slot on the camera.

Operating Instructions

Revolutionary Imaging

The Osmo Action 5 Pro features a new 1/1.3-inch sensor and a 4nm chip, delivering stunning low-light performance and vibrant, true-to-life colors. It supports 4K video recording at 120fps in a 4:3 aspect ratio, providing more space for framing and cropping.

For challenging lighting conditions, the camera's SuperNight mode uses advanced noise reduction to sharpen and clean your footage, especially effective at dusk or in city nightscapes.

Advanced Stabilization

Achieve ultra-stable footage with 360° HorizonSteady and RockSteady 3.0. HorizonSteady maintains a level view, while RockSteady 3.0 reduces shakiness during extreme movements, ensuring professional-level content regardless of action intensity.

Audio and Dual Screens

The Osmo Action 5 Pro offers professional audio capture with direct DJI Microphone connection, allowing you to use DJI Mic 2/Mic Mini transmitters without a receiver. Dual OLED touchscreens provide crisp viewing and responsive control, making vlogging and self-filming easier.

Battery Life and Durability

Experience up to 4 hours of continuous recording with the extended battery life. The camera is waterproof up to 20 meters without an additional case and can operate in temperatures as low as -20°C (-4°F).

Smart Features and Connectivity

The camera includes an exclusive built-in air pressure gauge for altitude data and a water pressure gauge for real-time underwater depth and duration display. Voice control allows for hands-free operation. Content transfer is rapid, with wireless speeds up to 80 MB/s.

Maintenance

General Care

• Keep the camera clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
• Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
• Store the camera and accessories in a dry, cool place when not in use.

Underwater Use Precautions

Before using your Osmo Action 5 Pro underwater, follow these steps:

1. Check that the Glass Lens Cover and screens are intact and securely closed.
2. Close the battery compartment cover and the USB-C port cover tightly.
3. The Osmo Action 5 Pro can be used at depths of up to 20 meters. However, it is recommended to install the Waterproof Case for long-duration underwater shooting or in environments with high water impact pressure. With the Waterproof Case, Osmo Action 5 Pro can be used at depths of up to 60 meters.
4. Do not use the camera in hot springs or extreme underwater environments, or let it come into contact with corrosive or unknown liquids.
5. Before changing the Glass Lens Cover, air dry the camera to avoid any condensation caused by water entering the lens cap.
6. Rinse the camera with clean water after using it underwater, and completely air dry it before using it again.

Troubleshooting

Camera Heating During Use

When using high-specification, high-performance modes (such as 4K/120fps standard video mode, 2.7K/60fps Subject Tracking mode, or 4K/30fps SuperNight mode), the camera consumes more power, which can result in a noticeable increase in temperature. Additionally, extended recording sessions or prolonged handheld use can also cause the camera to feel warm. This is normal operation and does not indicate a fault.

Flicker When Playing Footage on Different Computers

Playback of recorded footage on computers can be affected by computer settings and performance. If flicker occurs, try the following solutions:

• Apple Mac: Go to System Preferences > Displays > Refresh Rate, and change the refresh rate to a fixed value, instead of ProMotion.
• Other computers: A low-performance graphics card may cause flicker when playing the files. It is recommended to use a better-performing computer for viewing.
