Setup

1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the speaker. The speaker has a built-in rechargeable battery.

  1. Connect the small end of the USB Type-C cable to the USB-C port on the speaker.
  2. Connect the other end to a USB wall charger (not included) or a computer that is powered on.

The battery indicator will show the charging status. A full charge provides up to 12 hours of playback at normal volume.

2. Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press the Power button. The power indicator will glow.
  • To power off: Press and hold the Power button until the power indicator turns off.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

Connect your speaker to a Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, computer) to play audio.

  1. Power on the speaker. The Bluetooth indicator will slowly pulse blue, indicating it's ready to pair.
  2. On your device, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  3. Select "Bose SoundLink Flex" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will glow solid white, and you will hear an audible confirmation.

To pair with another device, press and hold the Bluetooth button until the indicator pulses blue, then repeat steps 2 and 3.

Operating Instructions

1. Playing Audio

Once connected via Bluetooth, you can play audio from your device. Use the speaker's controls or your device's controls to manage playback.

  • Press the Play/Pause button to play or pause audio.
  • Press the Volume Up (+) or Volume Down (-) buttons to adjust the volume.
  • Double-press the Play/Pause button to skip to the next track.
  • Triple-press the Play/Pause button to go to the previous track.

2. Call Management

The speaker includes a built-in microphone for hands-free calls.

  • To answer an incoming call: Press the Play/Pause button.
  • To end a call: Press the Play/Pause button.
  • To decline an incoming call: Press and hold the Play/Pause button.

3. PositionIQ Technology

The SoundLink Flex features PositionIQ technology, which automatically detects the speaker's orientation (e.g., lying flat, standing upright, hanging) and optimizes the sound output for the best audio experience in any position.

4. Party Mode and Stereo Mode

You can connect two Bose SoundLink Flex speakers together for Party Mode (simultaneous playback) or Stereo Mode (left/right channel separation). This feature is managed through the Bose Connect app.

  • Download the Bose Connect app from your device's app store.
  • Follow the in-app instructions to enable Party Mode or Stereo Mode.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Wipe the speaker's surface with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use any solvents, chemicals, or cleaning sprays.
  • Ensure the USB-C port is dry before charging.

2. Waterproof and Dustproof Care (IP67)

The SoundLink Flex is IP67 rated, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It is also designed to float.

  • Do not intentionally submerge the speaker for extended periods or beyond specified depths.
  • After exposure to water, especially saltwater or chlorinated water, rinse the speaker with fresh water and allow it to air dry completely before charging or using.
  • Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed when near water or dust.

3. Battery Care

  • Store the speaker in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid exposing the speaker to extreme temperatures.
  • For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% to prolong its lifespan.

Troubleshooting
