3. Setup and Installation

This section provides instructions for setting up and installing your Wuloo Solar Driveway Alarm System.

3.1 Sensor Placement

• Choose a location for the sensor that provides a clear line of sight to the detection area (e.g., driveway, gate, walking path).
• Ensure the solar panel on top of the sensor receives adequate direct sunlight for optimal charging.
• Mount the sensor securely using the provided screws and anchors. The sensor can be wall-mounted.
• Position the sensor approximately 3-4 feet (0.9-1.2 meters) above the ground for best detection results.
• Avoid pointing the sensor directly at moving objects like trees or bushes that might cause false alarms.

3.2 Receiver Placement

• Place the receiver indoors, ideally in a central location where the alarm can be heard throughout your home.
• Ensure the receiver is within the 1/2 mile (approx. 800 meters) signal range of the sensor. Note that obstacles like thick walls, buildings, and dense foliage can reduce the effective range.

3.3 Initial Charging (Sensor)

While the sensor is solar-powered, it is recommended to fully charge it using the provided Type-C cable before first use, especially if it has been stored for a long time or if sunlight is limited. Connect the Type-C cable to the sensor's charging port and a DC 5V adapter (not included).

3.4 Pairing Sensor and Receiver

The sensor and receiver typically come pre-paired. If re-pairing is needed or if you are adding additional sensors:

1. On the receiver, press and hold the PAIR button until you hear a 'welcome' prompt sound. This puts the receiver into pairing mode.
2. On the sensor, press the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to turn it on.
3. The sensor and receiver should automatically pair. You will hear a 'pairing finished' prompt from the receiver.
4. To clear existing pairing history on the receiver, press the PAIR & Volume buttons simultaneously. You will hear 'pairing cleared'.

The system is expandable, allowing you to add up to 8 sensors to a single receiver or multiple receivers for broader coverage.

4. Operation

4.1 Sensor Settings

• ON/OFF: Press and hold the ON/OFF button on the sensor for 3 seconds to turn it on or off.
• Work Mode: The sensor has 4 work modes: Light and Alarm Sound, Light Flash Only, Alarm Sound Only, and Mute (no sound, no flash). Select the desired mode using the dedicated button on the sensor.
• Melody Setting: Press the melody button on the sensor to cycle through 12 different melodies.
• Sensitivity Adjustment: The sensor features a 3-level sensitivity switch (L/M/H). Adjust this setting to optimize detection and reduce false alarms from small animals or environmental factors like leaves.

4.2 Receiver Settings

• Chime Selection: The receiver offers 16 different chimes. You can set a unique chime for each paired sensor (e.g., 'sensor one', 'sensor two' melodies). Enter pairing mode to set specific melodies for different sensors.
• Volume Adjustment: The receiver has 4 volume levels, including a mute level. Use the volume button to adjust the sound output.
