The tricycle is equipped with disc brakes for reliable stopping power. Squeeze the brake levers gently to slow down and firmly to stop. The e-brake function allows you to lock the brakes when parked to prevent accidental rolling.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your VIRIBUS Electric Tricycle.
- Tires: Check tire pressure before each ride. Ensure tires are inflated to 40 PSI. Inspect for wear, punctures, or damage.
- Brakes: Regularly check brake pads for wear and brake cables for proper tension. Adjust or replace as needed.
- Chain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
- Battery: Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Charge it regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its health. Avoid fully discharging the battery.
- Frame: Clean the frame with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the paint or components.
- Fasteners: Periodically check all nuts, bolts, and quick-release levers to ensure they are securely tightened.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Tricycle does not power on | Battery not charged or not properly installed. | Ensure battery is fully charged and securely locked in place. Check power button on display. |
| Motor not assisting | Low battery, PAS level set to 0, or motor cable disconnected. | Charge battery, increase PAS level, check motor cable connection. |
| Brakes feel loose | Brake cable tension is low or pads are worn. | Adjust brake cable tension. Inspect and replace brake pads if worn. |
| Unusual noises during ride | Loose components, dry chain, or tire rubbing. | Check all fasteners, lubricate chain, inspect tire clearance. |
