Product Overview
The Dogtra 280X system consists of a handheld remote transmitter and a collar receiver. Understanding the layout and functions of each component is essential for effective training.

Setup
1. Charging the Unit:
Before first use, fully charge both the remote transmitter and the collar receiver. Use the provided USB-C charging splitter cable. The units are equipped with Lithium Polymer batteries.
- Connect the splitter cable to both the remote and collar.
- Plug the USB-C end into a compatible power adapter (not included).
- A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours. The battery indicator on the LCD screen will show charging status.
2. Turning the Unit On/Off:
To turn on the remote transmitter, press and hold the power button until the LCD screen illuminates. To turn off, press and hold the power button until the screen turns off. For the collar receiver, press and hold the power button on the receiver until the LED light flashes and you hear an audible tone. Repeat to turn off.
3. Fitting the Collar:
Proper collar fit is crucial for consistent and effective stimulation. The contact points must have direct contact with your dog's skin.
- Center the contact points on the underside of your dog's neck, directly below the windpipe.
- The collar should be snug enough for the contact points to make firm contact, but loose enough to allow one or two fingers to slide underneath the strap.
- If your dog has long or thick fur, you may need to trim the fur around the contact points to ensure proper skin contact.

4. Removable Contact Points:
The 280X features removable contact points, allowing for vibration-only training without the stimulation prongs. This is unique in its category.

Operating Instructions
1. Adjusting Stimulation Levels:
The remote transmitter features a rheostat dial with 100 levels of stimulation. Rotate the dial clockwise to increase the level and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The current level is displayed on the LCD screen.
2. Safety Level Lock:
To prevent accidental changes to the stimulation level, the 280X includes a safety level lock. This feature ensures the chosen level remains constant during training.

3. Training Modes:
The 280X offers multiple training modes for versatile communication with your dog:
- Nick Stimulation: Delivers a single, quick pulse of stimulation.
- Constant Stimulation: Delivers continuous stimulation for up to 12 seconds (or until the button is released).
- XPP Vibration (Pager): Provides a strong, non-stimulating vibration.
- Audible Tone: Emits a sound from the collar receiver.
- Boost Function: Provides an increased level of stimulation for urgent situations or strong distractions. This is typically set to a higher level than your standard working level.

4. LED Locate Light:
The 1000 Lux LED light on the collar receiver helps you locate your dog in low-light conditions or at night. This is the brightest in its category.

5. Multi-Dog Training:
The Dogtra 280X system is expandable to control up to three dogs. Additional collar receivers are sold separately. Refer to the owner's manual for instructions on pairing multiple collars to one remote.
