This manual provides instructions for the installation and use of the SmallRig L-Shape Handgrip 4797. This accessory is specifically designed to enhance the ergonomics and functionality of your Sony Alpha 7C II or Alpha 7CR camera, offering improved grip, stability, and versatile mounting options.
The handgrip integrates seamlessly with the camera body, maintaining access to essential functions such as the battery compartment, and features a built-in Arca-Swiss quick release plate for efficient transitions between handheld and tripod shooting.
What's in the Box

The package includes one L-Shape Mount Plate. Please ensure all components are present upon unboxing.

Setup: Attaching the Handgrip
- Prepare the Camera: Ensure your Sony Alpha 7C II or Alpha 7CR camera is powered off.
- Align the Grip: Position the SmallRig L-Shape Handgrip against the bottom of your camera, aligning the 1/4" screw hole on the grip with the tripod socket on the camera.
- Secure the Screw: Use the included flat screwdriver to tighten the 1/4" screw, securing the handgrip to the camera. An anti-twist pin is integrated to prevent rotation.
- Check for Fit: Verify that the handgrip is firmly attached and does not obstruct the battery compartment or other camera functions. The integrated rubber pad protects the camera from scratches.

Versatile Mounting Options
- Arca-Swiss Quick Release Plate: The base of the handgrip is equipped with a built-in Arca-Swiss quick release plate, allowing for rapid attachment and detachment from compatible tripods and support systems.
- 1/4"-20 Threaded Hole: Additional 1/4"-20 threaded holes are available for attaching various accessories.
- Strap Slot: A dedicated strap slot is included for attaching a wrist strap or neck strap, enhancing security and portability.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the handgrip with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the handgrip in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight when not in use.
- Inspection: Periodically check the mounting screw for tightness to ensure the grip remains securely attached to your camera.
Troubleshooting
- Grip feels loose: Ensure the 1/4" mounting screw is fully tightened using the provided flat screwdriver.
- Battery compartment obstructed: Re-check the alignment during installation. The grip is designed to allow full access to the battery compartment. If obstruction occurs, detach and re-attach carefully.
- Camera scratches: The handgrip includes a rubber pad to prevent scratches. Ensure this pad is clean and properly positioned during installation. If scratches occur, verify correct installation and contact support if issues persist.
