- Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and free from dust or obstructions to ensure optimal charging of the internal batteries.
- Battery Replacement: While the outdoor sensor uses rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, their lifespan may vary. If the sensor frequently loses connection or provides inconsistent data, consider replacing the batteries.
- Display Unit: Wipe the display unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Winterization: In areas with harsh winters, consider bringing the outdoor sensor indoors or protecting it from extreme conditions to prolong its lifespan.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No outdoor data displayed. | Sensor out of range, low sensor battery, interference. | Move units closer, check/replace sensor batteries, avoid interference sources (TVs, high-voltage lines). Re-pair sensor if necessary (refer to setup section). |
| Incorrect rainfall readings. | Rain collector blocked, tipping bucket mechanism stuck or installed incorrectly. | Clear debris from rain collector. Check the tipping bucket for obstructions or ensure it's correctly oriented (as mentioned in customer reviews, sometimes it can be backwards). |
| Inaccurate wind speed/direction. | Obstructions near sensor, cups/vane not rotating freely. | Ensure sensor is in an open area. Check for physical obstructions or damage to wind cups/vane. |
| Wi-Fi connection issues. | Incorrect Wi-Fi password, 5GHz network, router issues. | Verify Wi-Fi password. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz network. Restart router and display unit. |
| Display time is incorrect after restart. | Not yet synchronized with internet time. | Wait approximately 2 minutes after successful Wi-Fi connection for automatic synchronization. |
