4. Setup
Follow these steps to install and pair your X-Sense SMS0A Motion Sensor with your security system.
4.1 Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the motion sensor.
- Insert the AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.2 Mounting the Motion Sensor
The motion sensor can be installed on a flat wall or in a corner using the provided adhesive tape or screws.

4.2.1 Wall Mounting
- Choose a clean, dry, and flat surface for installation.
- Attach the adhesive tape to the back of the sensor or use screws to fix the mounting bracket to the wall.
- Securely attach the motion sensor to the mounted bracket or directly to the wall using the adhesive.
4.2.2 Corner Mounting
- Select a clean, dry corner for installation.
- Attach the adhesive tape to the side edges of the sensor or use screws to fix the corner mounting bracket.
- Press the sensor firmly into the corner or attach it to the corner bracket.
4.3 Pairing with the SBS50 Base Station
The SMS0A motion sensor must be paired with an X-Sense SBS50 Base Station to function as part of your security system.
- Ensure your SBS50 Base Station is powered on and connected to the X-Sense Home Security App.
- Open the X-Sense Home Security App and navigate to the device pairing section.
- Press the pair button on the SMS0A motion sensor (refer to the sensor's diagram for exact location).
- The base station will indicate successful pairing, and the sensor will appear in your app's device list.
- You can connect up to 50 PIR (Passive Infrared) sensors to one base station.
5. Operating the Motion Sensor
Once installed and paired, the motion sensor will detect movement and communicate with your base station.
5.1 X-Sense Home Security App Control
The X-Sense Home Security App provides remote monitoring and control over your security system, including the motion sensor.

- Family Sharing: Share access to the app with family members so they can also monitor the system.
5.2 Receiving Alerts
When motion is detected, the sensor sends a signal to the base station, which then triggers an alarm and sends a notification to your smartphone.

- Push Notifications: Receive instant alerts on your smartphone when motion is detected.
- Base Station Alarm: The SBS50 Base Station will sound an alarm according to your configured settings.
6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement
When the battery level is low, the sensor will typically indicate this through the app or a specific LED pattern. Replace the battery promptly to ensure continuous operation.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Remove the old AAA battery.
- Insert a new AAA battery, observing correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
6.2 Cleaning
Wipe the sensor's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
