2. Compatibility

This keypad is universally compatible with Chamberlain, LiftMaster, and Sears Craftsman garage door openers manufactured from 1993 to the present. It supports openers with a YELLOW, PURPLE, RED, ORANGE, or GREEN Learn Button. It is a direct replacement for models such as G940EV-P2, 940EV, and 940ESTD.

Important: This keypad does not support Dip Switch openers or Craftsman Series 100 models.

4. Setup and Installation

The Avisontek 940EV-P2 keypad is designed for easy wireless installation. No professional help is required.

4.1 Locating the Learn Button

Before programming, locate the "Learn" button on your garage door opener. The location and color of this button may vary depending on your opener model. Common locations include the back or side panel of the motor unit. The Learn LED will illuminate when the button is pressed.

4.2 Programming the Initial PIN

Follow these steps to program your keypad with an initial Personal Identification Number (PIN):

  1. Press and hold the * and # buttons simultaneously until the lights on the keypad stop blinking.
  2. Enter your desired 4-digit PIN, then press the # button.
  3. Press and release the Enter button the number of times that corresponds with your garage door opener type:
    • 1 Press: 315 MHz Security+ (Purple Learn Button)
    • 2 Presses: 390 MHz Security+ (Red/Orange Learn Button)
    • 3 Presses: 390 MHz Billion Code (Green Learn Button)
    • 4 Presses: 310/315/390 MHz Security+ 2.0 (Yellow Learn Button)
  4. To exit programming mode, press the 0 button.
  5. Press and release the Learn button on the garage door opener. The Learn LED will light. You have 30 seconds to complete the next step.
  6. Enter the 4-digit PIN programmed in step 2, then press and release the Enter button. The garage door opener lights will flash or two clicks will be heard, indicating successful programming.
  7. To test, press the PIN, then press Enter. The garage door will activate.

Note: To program the Keyless Entry to more than one garage door opener, repeat the steps above using a new PIN for each additional garage door opener. To stop or reverse the door during operation, enter the PIN then press the ENTER button. The door will activate, and the keypad will remain active for 20 seconds.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Opening/Closing the Garage Door

To open or close your garage door, simply enter your personalized 4-digit PIN on the keypad, then press the Enter button. The garage door will activate.

5.2 Using the Guest Password Function

The keypad supports a temporary guest password function. Refer to the full programming instructions (often found on the inside of the keypad cover or in the detailed manual) for setting up and managing temporary PINs for visitors or service personnel.
