4. Operating Instructions

Before starting the chipper, ensure all safety checks are performed and the machine is on a stable, level surface. Always wear appropriate PPE.

  1. Fuel and Oil: Fill the fuel tank with unleaded gasoline and check the engine oil level. Refer to the engine manual for specific requirements.
  2. Starting the Engine:
    • Ensure the emergency stop button is disengaged (pulled out).
    • Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
    • Set the choke lever to the CHOKE position (if engine is cold).
    • Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
    • Use the electric start key to start the engine. If electric start fails, use the recoil start.
    • Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the RUN position.
  3. Feeding Material:
    • Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes.
    • Carefully feed branches and wood into the feeding chute, ensuring they are within the 6-inch diameter limit.
    • Do not force material into the chipper. Allow the machine to pull the material through.
    • Avoid feeding material with excessive dirt, rocks, or metal objects, as this can damage the blades.
  4. Discharging Material: The 360° rotary discharge chute allows you to direct chipped material as needed. Adjust the deflector for accurate discharge.
  5. Stopping the Engine:
    • To stop the engine in an emergency, press the emergency stop button or activate the emergency stop bar.
    • For normal shutdown, turn the engine switch to the OFF position and turn the fuel valve to the OFF position.
    • Allow the engine to cool down before performing any maintenance or storage.
