1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the KENWOOD 16-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker. This multifunctional programmable multicooker is designed to simplify your cooking process, offering a wide variety of cooking programs including pressure cooking, steaming, rice cooking, slow cooking, sautéing, and more. 2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  • Read all instructions thoroughly before operating the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating.
  • Never force open the pressure cooker. Do not open until the unit has cooled and internal pressure has been released.
  • Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dehydrated vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full.
  • Always check the pressure release valve for clogging before use.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials from the pressure cooker and its accessories.
  2. Wash the inner pot, lid, and sealing gasket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  4. Ensure all parts are dry before assembly.

4.2 Assembly

  1. Place the inner pot into the main unit, ensuring it sits flat and securely.
  2. Check that the sealing gasket is properly seated around the lid's rim.
  3. Align the lid with the main unit, ensuring the arrow on the lid points to the "Open" position on the main unit.
  4. Rotate the lid clockwise until the arrow on the lid aligns with the "Close" position, indicating it is securely locked.
  5. Ensure the pressure release valve is set to the "Sealing" position for pressure cooking.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

  1. Add ingredients and liquid to the inner pot. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  2. Close and lock the lid securely. Ensure the pressure release valve is in the "Sealing" position.
  3. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The display will show "OFF".
  4. Select your desired cooking program or use the Manual function.
  5. Press the "START/STOP" button to begin cooking.
  6. Once cooking is complete, the cooker will beep and automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode.
  7. Carefully release pressure before opening the lid.

5.2 Using Pre-set Programs

  1. Add ingredients according to your recipe.
  2. Press the button corresponding to the desired program (e.g., "Rice", "Soup", "Meat/Stew").
  3. The display will show the default cooking time. You can adjust this time using the "TIME" button if needed.
  4. Press "START/STOP" to begin. The cooker will automatically adjust pressure and temperature.

Note: Refer to the recipe book (if included) for specific ingredient ratios and cooking times for each program.

5.3 Manual Function

The Manual function allows you to set custom cooking time and pressure levels.

  1. Press the "Manual" button.
  2. Use the "TIME" button to set your desired cooking duration.
  3. Use the "TEMP" button to adjust temperature if applicable for non-pressure cooking modes.
  4. Press "START/STOP" to begin cooking.

5.4 Delayed Cooking Function

The 24-hour present function (Delay) allows you to program the cooker to start at a later time.

  1. Add ingredients and select your desired cooking program.
  2. Press the "DELAY" button.
  3. Use the "TIME" button to set the delay time (in hours).
  4. Press "START/STOP". The timer will count down, and cooking will begin automatically after the delay.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your KENWOOD Electric Pressure Cooker. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

  • Inner Pot: Wash with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. The non-stick coating is delicate, avoid metal utensils. It is dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to preserve the coating.
  • Lid: Wash the lid, including the sealing gasket and pressure release valve, with warm, soapy water. Ensure no food particles are lodged in the valves. The sealing gasket can be removed for thorough cleaning and should be reinserted correctly.
  • Main Unit: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid. Clean the heating plate inside the main unit with a damp cloth, ensuring it is dry before next use.
  • Condensation Collector: Empty and clean the condensation collector after each use.
  • Storage: Store the pressure cooker in a dry place. You may place the lid upside down on the inner pot to prevent odors.
