3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Place the printer on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and dusty environments.
  3. Ensure adequate space around the printer for operation and maintenance.

3.2 Screen Protector Installation

It is recommended to install the anti-scratch film on the LCD screen to protect it from resin spills and damage. Follow the instructions provided with the Anti-Scratch Film Kit for proper application, ensuring no bubbles are trapped underneath.

3.3 Platform Leveling

Accurate platform leveling is crucial for successful prints. Use the included leveling paper to calibrate the build platform:

  1. Install the build platform onto the Z-axis.
  2. Loosen the screws on the build platform.
  3. Place the leveling paper on the LCD screen.
  4. Lower the Z-axis until the platform gently presses against the leveling paper.
  5. Tighten the platform screws while maintaining pressure on the paper.
  6. Raise the Z-axis and remove the leveling paper.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Printing Process

  1. Prepare Your Model: Use a compatible slicing software (e.g., Anycubic Photon Workshop, Chitubox, Lychee) to prepare your 3D model. This involves adding supports, orienting the model, and slicing it into layers. Save the sliced file to the provided USB drive.
  2. Pour Resin: Ensure the resin vat is clean and securely installed. Carefully pour the desired resin into the vat, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum fill line. Always wear gloves when handling resin.
  3. Insert USB Drive: Insert the USB drive containing your sliced file into the printer's USB port.
  4. Select and Print: Navigate the printer's touchscreen interface to select your file. Confirm print settings and initiate the printing process.
  5. Monitor Progress: The printer's intelligent detection features can monitor the printing process.
  6. Post-Processing: Once printing is complete, carefully remove the build platform. Use the scrapers to detach the printed model. Wash the model with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to remove uncured resin, then cure it under UV light.

4.2 Key Features and Technologies

  • 10K High Precision: The 7-inch 10K monochrome screen (9024x5120 resolution) with 17x17µm XY axis pixels delivers exceptional detail.
  • Fast Printing Speed: Achieves a maximum print speed of 120mm/h with the new generation ACF film and Intelligent Release Algorithm.
  • Advanced COB Light Source: The COB light source system combined with Fresnel lenses ensures light uniformity (≥90%) and minimizes stray light interference for consistent printing accuracy (±0.01-0.05mm accuracy error).
  • Intelligent Detection: Features include printer auto-inspection, residual resin detection, leftover resin monitoring, failed print detection, and intelligent lifespan management to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
  • User-friendly Touchscreen: A 4.3-inch high-definition screen with a new UI design supports 8 languages for intuitive operation.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Printer

  • Resin Vat: After each print, or if changing resin types, clean the resin vat. Carefully pour any remaining resin back into its bottle using a funnel and filter. Clean the vat with IPA and a soft cloth. Avoid scratching the FEP film.
  • Build Platform: Clean the build platform with IPA after removing prints. Ensure no cured resin remains on the surface.
  • LCD Screen: If resin spills onto the LCD screen, immediately clean it with a soft cloth and IPA. Do not use sharp objects to scrape off cured resin.
  • Printer Exterior: Wipe down the printer's exterior with a soft, dry cloth.

5.2 FEP Film Care

The FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) film in the resin vat is a consumable part. It is delicate and can be scratched or pierced. Always use the recommended plastic spatula for removing prints from the build plate to avoid damaging the FEP film. If the film is damaged, it must be replaced to prevent resin leakage and print failures. Replacement FEP film kits are available from ANYCUBIC.

5.3 Resin Handling and Storage

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, safety glasses) when handling resin.
  • Store resin in its original opaque bottle in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Do not dispose of liquid resin down drains. Cure liquid resin under UV light until solid before disposing of it as solid waste.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter during operation.

6.1 Print Failures

  • Models not sticking to build plate: Ensure the build plate is properly leveled. Increase bottom exposure time in your slicer settings. Check ambient temperature; resin prints best in warmer conditions.
  • Partial prints or missing layers: Check the FEP film for damage or cloudiness. Ensure the resin is well-mixed and not expired. Verify exposure settings in your slicer.
  • Residue warnings: If you receive residue warnings even after cleaning, try performing a screen exposure test to clear any cured resin on the LCD.

6.2 Connectivity Issues

  • USB drive not recognized: Ensure the USB drive is formatted correctly (FAT32 is typically required). Try a different USB drive. Some users have reported issues with certain USB drives; using the one provided with the printer is recommended.
  • Mobile app connection issues: Verify your printer and mobile device are on the same network. Ensure the app is updated to the latest version. Check for any firewall or network restrictions.

6.3 General Operation

  • Strong resin odor: Resin printing produces odors. Ensure the printer is in a well-ventilated area. Consider using an enclosure with a filter if odor is a concern.
