Figure 4: Pipe Interface Sizes. This image details the dimensions and types of pipe connections supported: internal (1.5 inches/48.3mm or 50mm) and external (1.25-1.5 inches/32mm-38mm).
  • Internal Pipe (PVC pipe): For pipes with an outer diameter of 50mm (2 inches) or 48.3mm (1.9 inches).
  • External Pipe (Other hoses): For hoses with an inner diameter of 1.25 inches (32mm) or 1.5 inches (38mm).

5.2 Installation Schematics

Refer to the following diagrams for typical installation setups:

Installation Schematic Diagram A for above ground pool
Figure 7: Installation Schematic Diagram A. This diagram shows a typical setup for an above-ground pool, connecting the chlorinator in-line with the filter system. When using Type A pipe, an additional 50cm pipe (not supplied) should be added to the filter outlet. Consider installing a valve after the chlorinator for easier maintenance.

8. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your chlorinator.

8.1 F2 Water Flow Error

An F2 error indicates an issue with water flow through the chlorinator. This can be due to insufficient flow or a problem with the flow switch impeller.

Video 1: F2 Water Flow Error Troubleshooting. This video demonstrates how to identify and troubleshoot an F2 error, which indicates insufficient water flow or an issue with the flow switch impeller. It shows the difference between no water, sufficient flow, and insufficient flow conditions, and advises checking the wiring and connection status of the water flow switch.

Possible Causes and Solutions for F2 Error:

  • No Water Flow: Ensure your pool pump is running and water is circulating through the system. Check for closed valves or blockages in the plumbing.
  • Insufficient Flow Rate: The impeller of the flow switch may be shaking, indicating that the water flow rate is not sufficient for proper operation. Verify that your pump is operating at the correct capacity for your pool size and that filters are clean.
  • Flow Switch Impeller Issue: If the impeller is vertical (indicating flow) but an F2 error persists, check the wiring of the water flow switch and its connection status. It might be faulty or improperly connected.

8.2 Low Salt Alarm

If the low salt alarm activates, it means the salt concentration in your pool water is below the optimal range for chlorine production.

  • Solution: Add pool salt according to your pool volume and the recommended salt concentration (see Specifications section). Allow time for the salt to dissolve and circulate before rechecking.

8.3 Other Alarms

The system is equipped with various alarms for protection:

  • Over Voltage / Over Current / Short Circuit / Overheating: If any of these alarms trigger, immediately disconnect power to the unit. Consult the Specifications section for technical limits and contact support if the issue persists after ensuring proper installation and environmental conditions.
